I swear, the most fascinating thing about being the parent to a 2-year old is watching them develop their speech.

One day, they're saying something basic. And the next day, after you've corrected them a few times, they're discussing politics with you. :o

yeah, when My daughter was 1 1/2 I noticed that she was learning the way our word work. She said "I hear the dog ruffing" I had never thought about the complexity of adding -ing to a verb before, but it is neat to see kids figuring out the language like that..

No doubt! My kids think they're smarter than me already. I've had to re-think convos with them sometimes....that's bad.

What gets to me is how FUNNY kids can be when they say things.

Recent convo:

Me (with a monster voice): Rachel! I'm going to eat your fingers!
Rachel: No daddy! Noooo!
Me: But... I'm hungry!
Rachel: ....... eat your dinner!

Candace is such a smarty pants. Man she can catch me off-guard with her words without even trying! Taking after me, I think.

Kristen was barely uttering a couple of monosyllabic words at Thanksgiving. Now she's making complete sentences and telling us exactly what's on her mind.
