So I'm chatting with my sister (I just wub my family!) And she asks if we're having a b-day party for Isaiah. His birthday's on the 11th which is a Wed. I'd like to have a small party for him on Wed night. Less confusion for him, with his being autistic and all.

Little background here. December for him was AWFUL. Hubby's workplace had a little kid's program on the 4th with Santa, presents and games...yanno. So we went. Since that very day, Isaiah was SO upset that there were no presents by Monday morning under the tree. All December he did this. He was next near to impossible at school, too. Very emotional, crying for no reason, beating up lil kids....:sigh: So, now my sister and I were talking about when would be "best" to have Isaiah's party. I say Wed night...less confusion....BUT...it's too "hectic" for everyone else! So she suggests this coming Sun or Sat.

So, if you were in this situation, would you please everyone else or your child? Isaiah's getting older, therefore wiser and harder to trick. We used to be able have his b-day parties on the weekends while his birthday was in the middle and it was no biggie...however, nowadays.....

Yep, agree with Sarah...please your child, after all, it IS his "big day"!! Too bad (IMO) if his birthday infringes on the schedules of the rest of the family...you're giving them PLENTY of notice!! :hug:

Gettin' things ready for the party tonight. Expecting 11 kids and 10 adults. Let's see how this goes....

so you went with doing it on the weekend? Maybe you could do something special for him on his actual birthday, just like the famiy, you know?

Yeah, we'll probably make Wed evening ALL about him. Tonight worked out very well! He got distracted with all the excitement and loved his gifts! All were train and Thomas the Tank Engine gifts, so he was more than thrilled!

Then all the guys...this has gotta be a guy thing...were taking the wrapping paper, wadding it up and whipping each other.. there was a huge battle going on! Boys were everywhere fighting while the girls (4 of them) were in the kitchen playing with dolls. Us ladies were sitting at the table gossiping. So yep...quite the "normal" party, I guess! :lol:
