Title: Kinda Morbid...

Do any of you guys have your wills drawn up? What about making provisions for your kids (like appointing a guardian) if, God forbid, something happens to you & your spouse?

We don't....but it's on my list of things to do for 2006....

It's been on my list since my daughter was born.....3 years now. Haven't done it.

We haven't done it either though it's something we need to do. We just haven't been able to decide who we'd like Kat to go to (both sides of the family are kinda crazy!)

ARRGGG!! GRRRR!!!..... here's one em thins I've been after my dear wife to git done for bout 3 years now.... not so much a will er anythin, but to make sure she's got plenty of life insurance on me... it's far better to be safer then sorry... espcially consider my recent temper over the last couple months...

Life insurance....now that's a WHOLE other topic...do you guys think you have enough? What do they say, should be 10x your salary or something? And what about if one spouse DOESN'T work? Stays at home with the kids....do you have life insurance on that spouse? Supposedly, you are supposed to, because if something happened to THAT spouse, then you would have to figure in the cost of daycare, etc....

:offtopic: I do NOT think so!!! Why don't you jes come cross as mean rude, an horrible today!! You been talkin secretly wit my wife haven't you? Don't deny it! you have been!

I'll admit, I've been a bit jumpy lately, perhaps on the verge of paranoia... an THAT my dear IS off topic.... anyways :)

Ya was talkin bout provisions etc, that's one of em, havin life insurance case I kick the bucket, an course like Sarah said... the whole gardian thin.... man.. we've kicked that one round a lot.... there's like no one in either of our faimlies we'd be comfortable in death leavin ours wit. Kinda a real pickle, cuase if you don't make you intentions known... the lovely frickin state comes in an decides everthin for you. We really gotta figure sumthin out in that one.

Life Insurance - I only have coverage through my employer, but I've been trying to do some research on some universal life insurance plans outside of the employer.

Living Will - Don't have one. In the event that both my wife and I die, I think that Rachel will have to go with my parents. I feel like I've discussed this here recently? Anyway, short story is that nobody (NOBODY) on DW's side of the family is capable either mentally or financially to look after Rachel in the event that something should happen to us. Wife likes to argue with me about this though.

I'll have to make sure I make this all legal before my time runs up.

Need to work on a will yet. Hubby has insurance, if anything happens to him, it all goes to me.

The only thing I have drawn up is my orders to not go on in a persistant vegetative state... if they have to feed me through a tube and keep me on so many monitors I could live for a year off the electricity they're using... kill me just flipping kill me.... if there is a better then average chance I'm not coming back just pull the plug....

Misty got mad but I don't care...

We did a video-tape will with provisions of what to do with the kiddos, etc. Witnessed by my Dad, her Mom and a neighbor lady who's not mentioned. We thought it was kinda cool and 21st centry!

Well, just a year or so back, we found out the State of Texas won't recognize a video will. We have yet to do it.
