Title: Here's What I Need....
andiesmama - January 5, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
Andie's getting a chest of drawers w/mirror and a tall dresser for her bedroom...problem is, that makes us get rid of her tv stand which currently has her tv and then her vcr on the shelf below...
Going to put the tv on her chest of drawers, but the vcr won't be stable enough to put on top of it.
My question is...don't they make shelves or a stand or SOMEthing like that as a "space saver" for my problem? I'm wanting something to sit the tv up on so I can put the vcr under it...I've tried searching but can't find anything like what I'm looking for...I don't think I'm using the right terminology for the search.
Any ideas?? And I DON'T want to hear..."get rid of the tv in her room"!! :box:
Thanks...

yeah....that's the idea but I was hoping there was something less expensive!! I was just thinking a 3-sided-shelf thing....just something to sit the tv on to slide the vcr under it...maybe they don't make 'em...

A 3-year-old with her own TV and VCR??????? :haha:
I built something like that for my computer room. My desk is too small to support a monitor and keyboard, so I built this thing to set my monitor on and slide the keyboard under while I do other work (pen and paper, screwdriver, margarita, etc).
The three-sided thing

didn't work too well. I had to prop it up in back with another. I used 8" wide pickets leftover from my fence!
Just make sure it's about two inches taller, wider and deeper than the VCR. That'll give you room to maneuver.

:cheeky: Hey...whatever works, especially on the days when she says she's "not tired" for her nap...THAT means "quiet time" in her bed watching a movie!!
Yeah, I was thinking Ty might have to build something....

Best bet is to build something for cheap... one 2x8 12" long should more than cover the bill....I'd do 3 sides on the bottom with a gap in the back board for cables...
Reminds me I still have to make a new paddle....

Yeah, it's cheaper to build than to buy. And get rid of that TV! What are you doing? :cheeky:

Have you thought about getting one of those corner mounts that sits toward the ceiling in the corner? I have seen them at Lowes and I am sure Home depot probably has them too..
