Title: Cleavage

LynnMcG - November 30, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
Have you ladies noticed how much cleavage is showing in clothes these days? It's amazing.

yeah....it's crazy....hubby wouldn't mind if I wore that kinda stuff (at least around the house) but I feel weird just "letting it all hang out"....

Not here in South Korea...the clothing is very conservative by U.S. standards. It's nice; while I don't really care what other people wear, some of the stuff at home just offends the eyes.

Cleavage? What's that? Us small busted ladies don't have too much to worry about. ;)

I can fit into preteens clothes. And training bras, come to think of it. Yay for A's.

I used to be A's ...before I had babies. Now I've graduated to the B's. :bounce:

Last night on Biggest Loser, I thought Caroline and Jillian were both going to come out of their shirts. It's ridiculous!

A's!! Try DD's..

It's really hard when you are a DD not to have cleavage showing unless you go neck to knee :sigh:

Sometimes I look down and :yikes: ...not bad by the world's standards probably but a bit much for my liking.

I'm a D myself, so I know what you mean. It's SO hard to try and find something that doesn't let it all hang out! Even sweaters this winter are lower cut.

Can you say turtleneck? ;) Sounds like that's about the only way to stay covered anymore.

That's about where I am. Hey, I don't need to share these bad boys with the world! And it's cold out there darn it. Who needs a plunging neckline in December?!

How are you with scarves? Not the wooly, knitty type. But the dressy type? Drape that around somehow?

Trouble is December is summer here so scarfs are not the way to go for me at the moment.

I try and find a happy balance between looking like something from last century and maintaining some modesty. Takes some real talent I can tell you ;)

I'm probably the least conservative here. Living in AZ, and looking better in V-neck tops, some of my clothes can allow me to have some cleavage. Pretty much most of my workout tops show cleavage. I'm a size C.

I don't let it all hang out, but I don't mind showing just a tad bit. I wear things that flatter me, and I don't think letting everything show does, however, there is this really sexy red evening gown I have with spaghetti straps. It is lowcut and it looks great on me.

And, this may get some people going, but in certain settings, when I get closer to my goals, there are some bikinis I am considering buying. They are rather skimpy and I would wear them on the beach in public. There isn't a whole lot to them, but I find them really sexy. I'm not trying to impress other people or get other people going either. In fact, I'd even go topless. I don't really see it as a sexual thing, rather that I like my body and it's God's creation.

Hope I didn't just open up a can of worms.

andiesmama - December 3, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
You didn't open up anything Doris...except maybe a topic for more discussion!

I think it's great that you can be so confident & comfortable with your body....personally, I'm not....I could NEVER go topless, just my personal preference & I guess inhibitions...altho hubby wouldn't mind, probably! ;)

I do wear lower-cut tops, especially when it gets so hot down here, but nothing (like I said in my previous post) to where it all "hangs out"...nothing like you see SOME of the outfits around today!!

That's awesome.

I know exactly what you mean though. You should be proud of all your hard work.

I think my problem with these clothes right now is that I'm heavier than I'd like to be and therefore, my breasts are larger than I'd like them to be. I'm petite and have always been pretty curvy, but I love that. And so does my husband.

If you feel good, wear that bikini!

mdolls68 - December 3, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
Some of the bikinis are the ones I would like to wear:

Bikini Page

The less conservative side of me is coming out in the forum. Plus, I'm in a mode. My hubby said he wouldn't care if I took some of the pics like some of those in the bikini contest when I get to my goal. I'm still thinking about it. I have a ways to go. I would take the pics, but most likely not publish them on the internet.

And, I would probably only do it on a beach someone like in Europe, as the body is viewed differently there than here in the U.S.

I'll keep any pics I display of myself in this forum (and on the internet) clean.

There's no way I could pull those off unless I was going for the beached whale look!

mdolls68 - December 5, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't be wearing THOSE WW bikinis now at 29% bodyfat. I would get one when I get below 20%. Right now I do have a couple bikinis. They don't look terrible on me, but they would look better if I was closer to 20% bodyfat. They are less revealing than those WW bikinis.

I guess what I have liked is that women of all ages wear them and look good in them.

Sarah, I think one of the first steps to loving your body is to not refer to yourself as a "beached whale". Quite a few of you are thinner than me in this forum, but the self-image thing isn't all that great. Sure, many of us see areas of flaws, but through the blood of Christ, God sees us as beautifully and wonderfully created. AND, WE ARE!!!

Tell yourself every day the things God says you are.

It took me awhile to do this, but every week or so, I stand in front of the mirror completely naked and just look at my body. I look at the areas of greater improvement and otherwise and tell myself positive things about my body. I remind myself who I am in Christ.

Like, my tummy is the area that is of greatest challenge. I say, "What a beautiful tummy I have. My abs are strong and wonderful. I have 2 gorgeous children and from that lovely body. I nourished them and gave them life. I am learning about your body. I am working towards my goals and every day I get a little closer and closer. That extra cushion is helping me develop my character, refining it. I love my sexy tummy. Look at how cute that belly button looks.

My tummy is flat. My abs are rock hard. I have a strong core. Look at how shapely and sexy my abs are. They are perfect. I am attractive, hot, gorgeous, feminine in those WW bikinis.", etc. Some of what I say to myself is currently true, others not yet, but I tell myself as if it were true today. One day it will be true. I am reprogramming my mind.

Never tell yourself negative things about yourself. God doesn't. Why should you?

Thanks Doris, that was inspiring. And a much needed reminder for me.
