Title: Your Cameras
Description: What kind is it?

Redguard - December 31, 2005 04:28 PM (GMT)
Wife and I would REALLY like to get a digital camera. :(

I love taking pictures and photoshopping stuff outta them, but it gets discouraging when I have to wait for the roll of film to finish and then get them developed and uploaded digitally to the web.

I was curious about the kinds of cameras you all use. You can choose more than one option in the poll.

I have a 35mm SLR... it's really old (1985) but it takes really nice pictures. And I have an APS... which I'm now learning has become obsolete since APS film can hardly be found anywhere.

Nah, I would never do that to Jacks. I learned a valuable lesson a long time ago when it came to Photoshopping people.

Lesson: They don't like it.

p.s. Digital by the way....

We have an older Canon (3 megpixal) that we got for 3-4 hundred bucks about 4 years ago...it is awesome. Wifey dropped it about 4 feet once at Disneyland...it put a big dent on the corner of the camera...but the thing still takes AWESOME shots...

Here is a a link for we what have...I don't think they make them anymore.

When it's time for another...I'll go Canon again.

I have a Nikon APS camera that I got when I was about 17/18 which I haven't used in years and a Canon Powershot G2 digital camera which is about 18 months old. I love to take photos so I love my digital cos I can take as many as I want without worrying about wasting money.

Check out the Digital Photography Review website. It has reviews of tons of digital cameras and I found it really helpful when deciding which one to get. You can also search for cameras on that website according to the criteria you want in a camera.

We just got a Kodak Easy Share CD43 for Christmas with a printer dock and I love it. I had a very old Kodak digital that just wasn't good for anything but Ebay pictures. We also have an Elph APS camera that I have always loved. BUT it seemed to have crapped out on us while we were at the Giant's game. Of course, we didn't know it until we went to get it developed. That's really going to stink after the Giants go to the Superbowl and we have no documented proof that we met Shockey.

That's the same one I got. Wife got it for me several years ago while we were dating. It still works, but I just can't find APS film anywhere anymore.

But the picture quality wasn't all that great. :nono:

Mine takes amazing pictures and I always find film at Walmart. We were trying to decide if it was worth getting repaired when we bought the digital.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I checked Walmart. My wife is the one convincing me that there's no more APS film left anywhere, but I should know better than to listen to her.

35 mm Fuji 2000. Hubby's had it for years. At least 15-16 years. Thing still works great! I too, hate the waiting for film to develop. But lately the kids have been "sneaking" it and they've been taking pics of each other or their toys! Hubby's out getting more film now as we have another gathering to go to tomorrow.

Wish we had a digital, too...maybe come spring time...income taxes...

We've got a 35mm camera, that's just for when I run out of printer ink or photo paper....basically, for emergencies!

We just bought an Olympus digital one to replace one that broke awhile ago....ok ok ok, it broke because I dropped it!! :wall:
