Jack's POUND THE PROTEIN...

(sig worthy)

Stay away from Wendy's and mass consume high protein, healthy foods...

You'll soon be the buff like Gutter and me.....

(also sig worthy)

4jacks - December 29, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
I just got my Protein Shake stuff in the Mail... But man is it nasty..

I was orginally hoping to take it like I take Creatine, Just dump it in my mouth, swish some water around and swallow...

But it sticks to everything in your mouth.

We did get a pretty sweet Smoothie Machine. I'm going to try to mix up a smoothie tonight. Protein and Ice Cream... yeah...

What's wrong w/ Wendies and stuff... mens Fitness' latest Issue, said to just worry about the calarioes consume as many calories as possible. I know I need the Protein also. But it literally said Not to worry about what you eat, just make sure you eat enough.

Tonight, as in just before I fall asleep! I may get nightmares from this. :|

Squat, everything you say is sigworthy!

Jacks...in your case I'm sure Wendy's is fine....stay away from the frys.

I use 100% Whey by Optimum Nutrition...stuff tastes GREAT even in water..

Vanilla and OJ is to die for...

Rocky Road, Chocolate and Strawberry are awesome...

Fruit Punch is good in water and easy to cut with...

http://www.allstarhealth.com/de.aspx?p=1929

The prices here are GOOD.

I haven't taken Creatine for a while...but I heard it's best to take with Grape Juice...(NOT OJ - acidity)....something about the Glucose spike and the absorbtion of the creatine into the muscle. Couldn't hurt...just don't use OJ.

4jacks - December 29, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
That is pretty good, but I already have a big tub of this other stuff. Says it has 32 servings, so I should need more in a month.

I've heard the same about Creatine and OJ... but I still take it with OJ, becuase I don't mix the creatine in the oj.. i just put it in my mouth and wash it down with the OJ...

Besides, I need my OJ in the morning.

You look pretty good already.....I won't slam you like the rest of the guys....

GutterRat - December 30, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
You got a good foundation to work with. IF you have a problem gaining weight - then like Squat said - pound the protein.
I used to eat 1 chicken breast for b-fast + a protein shake (Labrada tastes the best) - 3 hrs later another Chicken breast & a tater - 3 hours later some yogurt w/ a scoop of protein powder - 3 hours later a can of tuna, protein shake, and chicken breast.

Protein, protein, protein.

LynnMcG - December 30, 2005 01:25 PM (GMT)
WOOHOO! (I tried to come up with something about pom poms, but you just can't do that without writing something sigworthy) You can do it Jacks! Kick that hairy guys scrawny butt!

Hey, you may just motivate me to get off my butt and get back on my bike.

Keep us posted!

I think so far the scrawny hairy dude, is my only real competition…

To be perfectly honest, I think I look better that I thought I would, I knew my legs were scrawny, but I thought I was a little thinner upstairs too. If this had started 3 months ago, I would win hands down, but now that took away some of my progress….

Officially this just started yesterday… there were a lot more people interested in signing up for it, in the interest thread, I’ll have to see what the other people look like…

I guess a lot of Civic Drivers are scrawny … lol

Oh yeah, sorry about the leg shot, that’s how the others guys did it, and how the judges want it done.

Besides that is my biggest area for improvement.

Thanks for the Support… Wait till you see the after pics !!

GutterRat - December 30, 2005 01:54 PM (GMT)
Maybe we should do a FHL fitness competition....hmmmm....

Honey - December 30, 2005 02:07 PM (GMT)
Ha yeah...overweight, here I come.....NOT.

You go, Patrick!

Oh yeah, Greta...we still need to see you in your cheerleading outfit.

GutterRat - December 30, 2005 02:10 PM (GMT)
Keep dreamin' ANEL.

4jacks - December 30, 2005 02:10 PM (GMT)
I'd give a few dollars for the fitness competition here.

Would anyone else be willing to do it?

mdolls68 - December 30, 2005 02:18 PM (GMT)
I'm not so much for fitness competitions...though, Patrick....my goal is the opposite of yours. I'm an endo-mesomorph (challenge to lose bodyfat but an easy muscle gainer). I'm working on turning my endo metabolism to a meso metabolism.

I won't do the competition, but I can post some results/progress, and eventually pics in a bikini (maybe just post pics of me in my workout outfits right now).

My main focus right now is to make $1M by 30-Sep-06.

Are you serious? You must be if you're willing to dish out money...

mdolls68 - December 30, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
I never do New Year's Resolutions.

I set the goal in Sep'05 to make at least $1M by 30-Sep-2006. Yes, I'm serious. I'm working very aggressively at it. I have a trading coach, flying all over the country every month taking classes, spending a bunch of money to learn this stuff well and properly. I'm going to show that a person can make a lot of money starting off with not a lot of money. Also, I'm a regular person. I have a full-time day job, married, with children....juggling all these things. God has been and is working through me to show His glory. When this happens, it will only be by faith, trust in God....and Him blessing. Really to do this will be a MIRACLE!!!

That is one of the huge reasons why I post the way I post....an owner, not a victim....empowering posts....it all starts in the mind/heart first. In my mind, I AM GOING to get to my goal. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

My humor is very dry. I try not to be sarcastic, though. I'm not joking about that goal. I am dead serious.

I could be a judge, however, I find that I'm too anal retentive. I've seen people do some drastic things that are very unhealthy to get the physique they want. I'm about a balanced well-rounded approach for life. I NEVER think it's okay to sacrifice health to look a certain way. So, in this sense, it would make me a poor judge, as I would look at the big picture.

Especially in this forum, where I think I'm starting to like you guys, I would hate to see anyone make poor choices for their health (like putting a lot of processed stuff in your bodies to either gain or lose, or do steroids, or go on some ridiculous fad diet, etc).

Well Every Competetion has to have prizes...

The guy who started the competetion on Civic Website is Putting up his own Money.

He's pretty cool, him and his weight lifting buddy are doing the judging, and he is putting up his own money to get people motivated to get into shape and to live healthier.

I'm going anonymously send him $10. I think it's well worth it. It's a very good cuase. I'm not on the civic site quite as much as here, but I like those guys and I think it's a great thing to do.

Over there, he is giving out some stuff from bodybuilder.com

It's not alot but it's enough to motivate some people to participate and the people who participate are hopefully going to motivate other people to exercise and live healthier.

I can't think of too many better cuases to spend a few bucks on.

Wow, You and I have completely different view on things.

I guess to each his/her own though. If that is your goal, then more power to you... or more money to you rather =)

As far as the fitness competetion online goes. I don't think you can really read that much into it. I just look at as a small tool to motivate people. It's a very true point you mentioned about not being able to really know or tell if people are abusing or doing bad things to their body just to look good.

But the large majority of the time is that Physical looks are directly related to Physical Health. So if you get 10 people to work out, but one person abuses his/her body and hurts themselves for it. I still see it as a Positive. That person is more than likely to do other stupid stuff, had they been doing something different.

mdolls68 - December 30, 2005 04:43 PM (GMT)
As for the money, Patrick, it's not a point of greed or anything with me. In order to accomplish the vision God has for my life, billions will need to be generated. God blessed with allowing me to make money today. I have not made much in December. God is working out my character through this whole process. It hasn't been easy. It's far easier to NOT have this goal than to have it. I could go on here, but won't, because of your original thread.

I've had quite a few friends and people I know who do the bodybuilding competitions. Some have done some really drastic things to either win, place, or even compete. It has left a bad taste for me. A personal trainer of mine a few years ago, I didn't know at the time, was big into steroids. He was about your age, maybe a year or 2 younger. He was pumped up, really buff and looked fantastic. I'd like to see where he is 15-20+ years down the road with his continued steroid use and other abuses to get his physique. I think those are sad choices.

That's why I like bodybuilders like Tom Venuto who look fantastic and are all natural (meaning no drug use or enhancers). They epitomize good choices, health, and hard work.

If a contest helps someone get on the road to making healthier choices, I'm all for that. Everyone is motivated differently. I prefer being inspired, because inspiration is more than surface level, but when motivation wanes, inspiration kicks in and helps keep you going through the hard times.

My best to you.

GutterRat - December 30, 2005 08:12 PM (GMT)
Those "natural" bodybuilders - well - i could go on forever about how "natural" they claim to be. It also depends on what you mean by "natural". They do take supplements - some are even questionable. YOu don't look like that by being "natural" and not taking something. It just doesn't happen.

But - anyhoo.

I miss my bodybuilding days. Yeah, peeps do some drastic stuff - but I did drastic stuff when playing football. It's all about the competition - winning - and staying focused on that goal.

As for these online competitions - I joined a few - won one. I did the Body-for-life challenge. As Jacks said - it's a motivation thing.
I also did some "strong-man" competitions. Those are nuts! Those guys are totally crazy, but it was fun!

Also, another website I lived on during my bodybuilding days was...
