I donno how ya'll deal wit a sick kid, but it breaks my heart to see my poor lil baby sick :( an for some odd, beyond me reason... my wife an I always end up in a fight I admit I tend to git a lil bearish at times but I wouldn't say bad... more like bearish as in bein woke up from hibernation wit a mountain of a hang over an a thirst for blood... but I wouldn't go so far as to say I wasn't bearable to be round.

I upchucked yeserday an this mornin I heard my poor lil girl puked on everthin :( my poor lil girl, I hate when shes sick cause there's nuthin I can do, I gotta fix thins ya know? An I cain't fix that

Yup - I hate that too. When the little ones are sick I hate it cause I am helpless.

My little girl is sick right now - cough & congestion. She called me this morning saying, "Daddy, I sick. Come home and hold me." Man - that's tough! I told her that when I got home I'd play, "Hungry, Hungry, Hippo's" with her - her favorite x-mas gift.

I hear ya...all three of my squidlys have been sick this week...

My 7 month old has puked in every room and on everybody...

Wifey and I fight quite a bit about how to treat them...she is very "hands off" let the body heal type of attitude...she won't even give them tylenol unless fever gets above 102...

Kinda chaps my rear....I'm thinking, "hey, the kids is suffering and feels like crap...give them something to feel better..."

She's thinking that the fever is what is assisting the body in fighting the sicknes...(which kinda makes sence, but I don't want the little ones to suffer...)

I hate how helpless I feel when they get sick.

Yesterday, my little guy coughed all day. He had this little tickle from post nasal drip and coughed almost constantly. This morning, the cough is gone...Praise God. But we felt so awful yesterday. And I know what you mean A2J, my DH and I were so edgy we were arguing. But I know it's because we were so frustrated and feeling helpless.

Kinda funny - my wifey is the opposite. My daughter even hints at not feelin' well - the wifey will bust out the tylenol. :)

Any hints of sickness here wifey breaks out...

garlic
pyroxide in ears

grapefruit seed extract

Kid has to be borderline convlusing before OTC meds are used...

Garlic is the best! Last week I'd had an irritated throat all week. Then wham! On the 23rd I got the full-blown cold. I ate a half a bowl of soup with a clove of chopped garlic. Felt better. By Christmas Eve and spending the day at my parents...I was so stuffed. Especially my ears. The wine helped me feel better. Christmas Day I felt much better. I just still have that annoying cough. The kids have been healthy so far. SO FAR....I'm holding my breath.

I don't like using meds right off the bat, either. Gingerale...LOTS of it.

DRUG ME UP!! I don't care - I'll down the drugs as soon as I THINK I'm gettin' sick.

I hate it when Andie gets sick, too....I give her the Tylenol around nap & bedtime to help her sleep, I try to stay away from the OTC cough & cold meds BUT I do use the Triaminic cough patches you stick on their chest....also use the plug-in vaporizers....and I found these suckers that have zinc & stuff in 'em, so I feed those to her at the first sign of a cold, they help alot!

As for when I feel one coming on....oil of oregano is my new friend! It always knocks my cold right out...PLUS white tea is a wonderful thing as well, thanks to my friend Lynn for turning me on to it!

dose em up get them well or get them feeling happy.... I can't stand to hear a kid cry... can't stand it worse if it's mine... even worse if there isn't a frigging thing I can do to make them feel better....

Soon as my daughter starts to puke or gets loose bowels it's break out the pedialite.....

Screw natural healing... natural healing doesn't work when your dying of dehyrdation....

Sometimes natural healing isn't fast enough...

and normally fever is a sideeffect of your body fighting off the infection not hte cause....
