Am I the only one who's completely peeved that just about every cell phone available has to come with a mandatory camera built into it?

I mean... the price of the phone is getting jacked up. Not because it has cool features... but because it has a CAMERA!

I DON'T WANT TO TAKE PICTURES WITH MY CELL PHONE!

Actually, I think I'm just annoyed with a lot of personal technology in general.

I feel like consumers are being toyed with. The technology is available to make a lot of items that consumers desire. For instance, most PDAs come with a maximum built-in memory of only 64MB. Why so little? There are SD Cards that are the size of my thumbnail and they can hold 2GB worth of memory. With that much extra memory, you can turn any regular PDA into a power Star-Trek type piece of machinery.

I with you on this Red. The one that bugs me most is the GPS in the cell phones are manditory so the police can find you in an emergency.
I don't believe them.
So when they want to implant computer chips with GPS under our skin, it will be for emergency purposes too.
If I'm calling you from my cell phone for help I should be able to tell you where I am. Right?
If I'm lost in the woods in the wilderness I had better have a satilite phone. I don't buy it.
As far as camera phones, I have a regular cell myself and only see the camera as a toy.

I'd give up the camera in wifey's cell (which we never use btw) for better range in a heartbeat.

Sense of direction sucks big time....

When I was with nextel they could tell me where I was and where I needed to turn to get to whereI was going...

I'd love to have a camera on my phone.To me it would come in handy.
That'd be better than carrying a camera and a cell phone.IMO
I havn't priced them lately,I'm sure I wouldn't be able to afford one. :doh:
