I read a fiction book once about a presidential candidate who picked his VP based on the fact that he was dying. He didn't tell anyone about his illness, but he basically hand-picked the next president.

I'm beginning to wonder if McCain hasn't done the same thing. His "new" campaign is all about Sarah Palin. It is like he's become her campaign manager and she is the candidate.
