Description: What to do when ...

Several of us are apparently having this problem. What should we do when our spouse refuses to help out with the kids or with any of the household maintainance?? I cannot possibly convince mine to help, he is more stubborn than a rock. What to do? :( :dunno:

Stop doing his laundry. Stop cooking anything for him.

When he's got no undies......he'll get the picture.

Gutter please stop using that "undies" words...only cheerleaders wear those....

not sure that would fix the problem...I'd just turn my inside out.

He loves to cook, so he would do that, and he has gone to work minus nderpants--which were all still in a pile in the bathroom..

Tell him he is in charge of cleaning the garage
mowing the grass doing the dishes and cleaning the bathroom.

Then nomatter what, even if you have to eat off of paper plates and paper cups don't do dishes.
Don't clean the bathroom, you could even help dirty it to help it along.

Did you try asking for help? Flat out set him down and ask for help? if so what did he say?
Just for grins and giggles

yes, I have asked for help. His reply was that he does enough work outside the home. Since I don't work outside the home the stuff here should be my responsibility. He acts like I am asking for his kidney or something outrageous..To help out at home would be to him like piling on work work work work--He claims that he is too tired to help out. Big fights have ensued when I have asked.............

andiesmama - December 22, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
Well, I don't work outside the home, my hubby does...but there are STILL things around the house that he takes care of. Like all the outside stuff (mowing lawn, yard work, etc), trash, and household maintenance. But I DO take care of most of the stuff inside....laundry, cleaning, cooking....

Altho I do know that if I asked him to help, he'd do it with some grumbling, but he'd do it.....

Maybe make a list of everything that needs to be done around the house so he can see it all written down? Then ask him to choose at least a couple things that he could take over for you.....I'm sorry, I know that's not much help but it's all I could think of right now...I'll think some more on it.

This will NEVER work with a dude...(ok, maybe jacks & red....)

We're too used to dumping in those fly infested gas stations...
