Is this weekend REALLY Christmas??

Today (actually I should be getting ready NOW) I'm going up to open up my parents' condo...my mom arrives this afternoon! :bounce: So Andie & I are spending the day there, not getting back until later this evening...

Tomorrow night we go to my SIL house to make gingerbread houses & Christmas cookies....

Friday is a Christmas party play-date with a couple of Andie's friends...

Saturday is church and then my parents come over that afternoon/evening for dinner and presents....

Sunday Ty's family comes over in the afternoon for Christmas dinner and presents....

I'm outta here!! :swoosh:

I really need to decorate tomorrow and plan the menu for Sunday. You see I am so motivated to get things done early B)

Secondly...gingerbread houses....funny you should mention.


I just got home from work this morning, pushed the "wifey breakfast" button on my remote and then sat on a barbie doll - - (fortunately the arms were at her sides...)

Anyway, I'm eatin' my waffles and I look over and see the kids did their GBread houses last night...Wifey buys these kits at Trader Joe's....pretty slick little deal...


Do you do yours from scratch?

Yeah - it's gettin' kinda busy for us too.

Tonight - go finish gettin' some last minute presents.

Thrusday - go to my sisters house after work. My brother is getting into town and we are opening gifts.

Friday - head to the in-laws after work for the traditional homemade pizza party.
Stay over night at the in-laws :(

Saturday - christmas w/ the in-laws

Sunday - Christmas at home w/ the fam.

Yeah Sat is going to be fun - (read busy)

Wife Works, Kids will be at in-laws, then going to their dad's, then I have to pick them up drop them off at parents, then go get Misty at 6, then go back to parents... deal with holiday drama, all three of us kids together there is always holiday drama, I'll get the blame even if I'm not there to start it.. I love being the youngest.....

Then Sunday - The enemy....

Does anyone know how to do the gingerbread thingy from scratch that might be a cool thing to do with my munckilins

This is going to be a SWEET Christmas for us...


This is the first time in our 15 years of marriage and 5 years of parenting that we will be alone for Christmas eve....

Usually we drive to Phx or LA several days early to see relatives, but this year we are staying home...yea!


My FIL/MIL and GMIL will be coming up from phx for Christmas day, so I only will need to deal with them for a few hours...then another couple of semi-quiet just us family days...


I'm pretty stoked.

Gosh.... A2J is startin to feel a bit left out... all I gotta do, is drop a load in houston, make two pick ups, drop in the mornin an pick up another load that'll take all day to git on here THEN I git to go home for a few days... not really got anythin planned that I know of... cept.... if'n there ain't any sugar cookies when I git home there's gonna be hell to pay le'me tell ya... an sweetie.. since your readin this... sure hope ya got em beans picked an ready for the fire to hehe

A2J what do you haul?

well, we buy the kits that have the houses ready-made, all you do is decorate it but it's still fun....I hosted it last year & got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond. My SIL got hers for this year at Michael's (a craft store)....I think Target has some as well...

Ty=my DH....but that's it...it's not short for anything...

Nope, we don't do ours from scratch....see above post...

:doh: I was wondering which one of you guys would pick up on that first....

I might just go generic... Grahm Crackers frosting, and candies....

That might work to get them building.....

That's a great idea...:doh:..why didn't I think of that!!

Buy the frosting in the tubes, that's the easiest to use....be sure to take pics, it's fun and messy!!

and with the crackers being able to be quartered you can build all kinds of different shapes....

We're gonna try the scratch thing this year...wish me luck!

We made our ginger bread house two weeks ago I think. Sean finally stopped picking the candy off and driving his cars up the "dwiveway". I don't think anyone's going to want to eat it but him.

Today: finished shopping, except for one thing I have to pick up at Modell's on Friday. Baking the rest of the cookies as soon as I sign off her.

Thursday: Avon deliveries

Friday: Christmas concert at school, Modell's, make spaghetti sauce

Saturday: Make lasagna for Sunday, visit oldest Bro's family, church, mom's house for dinner.

Sunday: Breakfast and dinner at our house with just our little family, SIL and her son. YIPEEE Merry Christmas!
