Yeah you guys bust your humps, and have a heck of a time explaining to the rest of the world just what goes on in a day and that it is a pretty freaking hard job.

Me.... I wouldn't last a week as a stay at home dad..... Nope kids would drive me up the wall....

Heck they drive me up the wall and when I work midnights... I can't think how nuts I'd go if I couldn't go to work and unwind....

Seriously I love my kids but man.... it's culture shock...

Stringaling - December 22, 2005 11:13 AM (GMT)
aaaaaww..thanks guys!

...although my husband swears that he would be better at me at it...

Trade him places... bet he's begging you to take it back inside a week....

clayman - December 22, 2005 12:24 PM (GMT)
Every time I go to some function - homeschool group, StoryTime at McD's, etc. - I get the same response: "It's about time a man did this job, just to find out how hard it really is!"

But ya know something, I only get up when I want to. Lately, I've been getting up early to come here before the kids get up. If I want to sleep in, I can. If I want to take a day off, I can. Just heat up leftovers and let the house go to hell.

If I do that too much, though.... Just imagine!

Now that i've started homeschooling I really want to go to homeschool groups and story times and such, but we only have one vehicle(a minivan--shock!) and three kids and so my husband has to take the van to work which leaves me stranded--and isolated. That is why I spend too much time on the internet. Bad me! Bad me!

In order for that to happen he would have to quit his job and I would have to find one that paid as well as his does and those things would have to happen at the same time so the switch would go smoothly without us having to miss any work or pay days..Unlikely to happen. Also he say sthat he wouldn't want to "do that to me" He claims that his job is the worst thing in the world to happen to a person--or pretty close...But of course he wouldn't take care of the kids the way they nmeed to be. He closes the bedroom door so he can't hear the baby crying when I leave him in charge. don't want to leave him wi9th the baby all day--EEK!

What does he do for a living if I may ask?

GutterRat - December 22, 2005 01:18 PM (GMT)
Man, I'm praying that I get this job I applied for that is a 2nd shift - this would allow me to be able to stay home w/ the kids during the day.
I stayed home w/ my daughter when she was an infant - and worked a 3rd shift. I loved being able to be with her.

Financial serviced for US Cellular. When your phone gets cut off you talk to him and he will tell you that you should have paid your bill for the last two months and this wouldn't have happened. You can imagine the pleasant people he gets to speak to . I know his job is rough , getting griped at all day, but it wouldn't be so bad if he didnt go to bed every night talking about how bad tomorrow will be.

that sounds like it would be great. Better than third shift!

Prayers for you~

Wow I'm sorry about that.....

Yeah a job like that I can see why he doesn't want to help out... doesn't mean he should just not help.....

So YOU'RE the one to blame for Stringaling's husband's bad mood!

Stringaling - December 22, 2005 01:45 PM (GMT)
Hey--at least we get free cellphone service! The first line is free and the second one is only 15 per month plus insurance on the phones(which were also free :shakeit: )
