How long does a printer last?? Mine is acting up and I am really not wanting to have to get another...

Sorry... I have it in my resume. I do NOT work on printers. Those damn thins drive me frackin bonkers.... I have taken em right out of the box an had em be dead, then agin, I have... an I cain't even member the name of it er model, but it went wit my Commodore 64, a printer that must be sumthin like 25 years old now, ribon thin... still works like a champ... go figure.

It's completely hit an miss wit printers, but define 'actin up', many times, dust an dry parts cause issues, keep thins well lubed (check wit Lena bout lubes :P ) use dialetric grease, available anywhere, doesn't lube real well, but does a fine job doesn't run everwhere an isn't an electric hazard.

Ours was given to us and has lasted 3 years with us and I think 3-5 years with the previous owner.
How long a printer lasts depends on how many pages it's prints per day and how much use it gets.
We rarely need to print :dunno:

What kind how old.....

Many printers nowadays are throw away models.... 50 bux print for a couple years pitch for a new one lather rinse repeat....
