Eeeek. Today is OS graduation. I'm so excited. Yep...I'm excited for a Kindergarten graduation! LOL. It's a big day around here and full of excitement!!!! :yay: :stars:

I'm sure most on here would say no.

I didn't think I'd be this excited but seeing how much OS has learned and making friends with other kiddo's and parents has changed my outlook on it :P

We're (the class) is having a bit party from 9-11 and then the graduation ceremony :D So it's gonna be a fun day.

Don't have too much fun!! :drunk:

Oh no...not here.

We have Kindergarten, Fifth Grade, 8th grade and then high school.

The kindergarten wasn't anything over the top. Just a little ceremony in the classroom with little diplomas. It was really really cute :)

My station at the party was a hit. It was 'decorate your own sugar cookie'... :booyah:

The teacher gave a nice little speech and cried. She cried while giving out the diploma's. I think everyone cried. :P

OS got a really good end of the year report card too.

Aw, how cute!!

Glad your station was a hit, you can be a cool mom, just like me! :P

The public schools don't do K-graduation here, just the private ones. They do 5th grade, though, at least they do at Andie's school.....

Geez!! By the time the real graduation comes round, you've done it so much it doesn't seem very special any more....At least that's how I'd look at it...

Really? I don't think having a special day to recognize a milestone is bad. One of the moms in our class had a 5th grader graduating today as well as her Kindergartner and she was emotional for both. Different stages in life I guess... :dunno:

I agree~it's a milestone! Even tho Andie didn't have a "graduation", we made it a special day to celebrate!

IF I were the student, that's how I'd feel. Of course I wasn't that excited or emotional about my own HS graduation, either...

If I were a student (and I might be again soon :D ) I would love the celebrations...but I like that kind of stuff. :dunno:
I was extremely excited for my 8th, my high school and my college graduation services.
Kiddo's (so far) seem to enjoy the celebrations so I'm guessing they won't mind celebrating their milestones...

Milestone....
It's going from one town to the next.....I don't even see it as a speed bump

:(
Wow.
Milestone for me:
-learning to read
-learning lowercase letters
-learning about land forms
-learning about Martin Luther King Jr and Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
-Learning about seasons and weather.
-Learning to write.
-Learning to write sentences.
-Counting by 5, 10's, and 2's.

It's starting out on the road to learning, do you pull over after the first two blocks of a cross country journey and Celebrate??

Then again when I was in kindergarten it was paper chains and stories, and play time, and naptime, and being REALLY freaking bored because I already knew my letters colors and numbers to 10 among a couple other things.. there wasn't a whole lot of learning going on beyond what was expected of us to behave in class and in class for our entire education to come.....

Actually quite a few ppl stop at different locations to take pics and such :P

We celebrate our kiddo's when they've done well and worked hard. Just like every year in AWANA there's an award ceremony and such. I guess we think they deserve a treat for their efforts (and only when they've tried and worked hard)...
