Do you know your neighbors? Do you like them?
We know the ones south of us couple miles, I like em well enough, but they are a stand off bunch, rather annoyin actually. It's all hugs an smiles if we show up, but they never call er stop by er wanna talk er anythin, kinda weird. The one gal works for a company that I bought a car from er few years back, they always say give a hollar an the like an then nuthin, so I donno. Have some other neighbours, couple miles north east of us that I don't care for, but they are a bit ... mmmmm how do I say it diplomatically.... they are jes some mexicans that like to party on the weekends an are pretty much... out of thier element where they live. Know some the other folks round the county an the like an some are ok, some are to fancy for us, in the hiarechy if you will.
We've met with our neighbours across the road from us once or twice. They wave when they go by, which is fairly often because they're always on the run!
The Amish neighbours have this "rule" that they're not to consort with anyone outside their community (except for business) so we don't sit around and chit-chat. The occasional one waves when they pass by. Their cows visit us more than they do.
Sadly I've lived here over two years and I've barely seen my neighbors... don't even know or care to know their names.
We know our neighbors to say "hi" but we don't hang out or anything. :dunno:

We've gotten to know our neighbors to our left and our right. THe neighbors around the corner always leave treats for us during Christmas and invite us to their kiddo's bday parties but we've never been able to attend.
Around the other corner lives OS schoolmates so we've gotten to know them well and they usually have my boys over to play which gives me a great break during the weekend :P It's easier for her to have my two kiddo's over than for me to have her three kiddo's over :P I help her by driving the kiddo's home and watch them from time to time.
Our front neighbor is the odd one. The guy is really nice and is really nice to our kiddo's. He gives them gifts from time to time. But his wife is a different story. She doesn't wave, doesn't say hi and avoids us but chats with other neighbors...rather odd... :dunno:
