This is my first Christmas with the company that I'm with right now.

In the past, yes, I would get those big whopping $1000 Christmas Bonuses (which were taxed, by the way).

At this company, "Real" Christmas Bonuses only go to upper management, which I am not.

However, I DID end up getting $80 worth of Gift Certificates to spend at our local mall... which is essentially cash because these GC offer cash back if you use on in a store and don't spend the entire amount.

:santa:

man, you guys are going hate me....

Technically I didn't get a "CHRISTMAS" Bonus...
For Christmas, i'm getting on Friday, a Long Sleeve Polo w/ the company Logo

However, we did get an "End of the Year" Bonus. About a month ago, along with our elvaluation and our raises.

For the Bonus, I got $1500 taxed down to a little over $900 (we spent most of it on gifts, and put some towards credit cards)

Also included in the bonus was an extra Percentage into my 401k Plan. I got an extra $800 into that, which is real sweet.

My wife got a $10 gift card to Lowes, maybe $20 I dunno...

Anyhoo, without boring you with my "I was unjustly fired from Home Depot" horror story, I'll just say that God has really blessed me w/ a great job, that I love and pays good. I don't really get Paid alot, but They also pay 100% of my tuition and the benefits are great, so I am really blessed.

GutterRat - December 20, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
The company I used to work for did that. They would give us on avg 4 - 6% of our total pay into our 401k. Then we would get a "bonus" depending on how the company did. My first year both me and my wife got 2500 bonus (pre-tax). It went down each year after that.

Bonus!!?

:rolf:

Nope, no bonus...unless you count all the extra cooking and cleaning I get to do at Christmas.

Unfortunately, DH is unemployed at the moment so a bonus for us would be a sidejob.

I remember getting a week's pay back in the day...That was always nice. DH too. In the past he's gotten at least a week's pay (taxed). One year, when I worked for a non-profit, they had to get rid of profit by year end so they gave it to the staff. THAT was sweet.
