Title: Activity Ideas?

Stringaling - May 9, 2008 03:17 PM (GMT)
I have taken over the little kids group (3rd grade and under) in our homeschool group and we get together for activities once a month. I have a few ideas and wanted to know if anyone had ny suggestions. These are some of the ideas I had so far are:

[*]Go to the dollar movies to see Horton Hears a Who (when it gets there)
[*]Around Thanksgiving or Christmas help out at a foode bank or shelter
[*]Zoo day
[*]Hospital tour (if they do those anymore)

Any ideas will be appreciated...
thanks!

Bake cookies with them and go visit the local fire dept or police dept

I like Squat's retirement home idea.

Nature scavenger hunt.

Have a daytime slumber party.....they come in their pj's, "camp out" and eat popcorn & snacks while watching a movie.

Good for you for taking on that job!!

*Splash park (we have one attached to a local high school.*
*Fire Department visit (our fire fighters are usually willing to come to our home and show the kiddo's their trucks - if there are no emergencies obviously. They even let the kiddo's use the fire truck hose*
*Go to a local children's theater/play*
*Bike rides*
*Food Drive/volunteer*
*Senior day - a local church has all the seniors get together on Tuesdays and they dance, play games etc. They love talking to and seeing kiddo's*
*aquarium*
*zoo*
*local theme park*
*Ride along with PD*
*Grocery Store tour. Doesn't sound very interesting but the kiddo's get a kick of having a behind the scene tour of what goes on in the store*
*Baking class*

Our stores do tours all the time for the kids, then usually the kids send a big thank you picture/drawing/project to the store & they hang it up for awhile.

Yes, Squat........the secret's out............
