wifey makes these things called 'green smoothies' after reading the following book...
http://www.amazon.com/Green-Life-Victoria-...09156159&sr=8-1However, you can google "green smoothie" and get tons of hits...
Anyway...these things have REALLY grown on me...been on 'em at least 6 months or more...
I've NEVER been a tea or coffee drinker...but I really feel out of sorts if I don't get my daily green smoothy....
Basically wifey cuts up apples, oranges, bananas, spinach, kale, broccoli, collared greens, etc...
They always taste different since she varies her recipe almost daily...(but it's always important to have some kind of greens)...typically all you taste is the fruit....but the drink is always grass green in color.
Of course she's using that high-dollar vitamix blender I got her for Christmas...
My co-workers always harass me with the thick green stuff I drink throughout the day...However, I bet I'm getting WAY more fruits and veges than they ever are...
The long term bene's are supposed to be outrageous...cure cancer, remove grey hair, etc...can't testify to those, but it feels good knowing my I gettin' a daily dose of the good stuff.

http://www.eatsprouts.com/blend/green.htmlInfo about them.......I'd probably like them as long as you couldn't taste the vegetables.

Well, it's not Pepsi ( :puke: ), but here's what I'm drinkin' tonight:

Well, I haven't had 96, 97 or 98 - but this is 99. It's a Helles Lager by the Spoetzl brewery in Shiner, Texas. Yum!

Yeah I'm not much of a coffee er tea drinker mysef B)
But I would really like to git more fruits an veggies in my deit... but bein in the truck it's jes frackin impossible to keep fruits er veggies good long enough to git through them.
I cain't stand v8 stuff.. man that stuff is jes horrible an if I could have sumthin that was only fruity then that would be good.
Seein Sqaut have a bad day cause he hasn't had his green snot for the day... now THAT I would pay to see

A2J -- V8 has this "Fusion" drink that I buy for Andrea, it's got a full serving of fruits AND veggies in each glass. And it tastes like a fruit drink, not vegetable.

I have heard of those fusion drinks, wonder how healthy they are, as compared to Sqauts green snot drinks, I wonder if they'd be of any real nutiritonal value er if they are jes jam pack wit processed junk ya know? Not that I'm knockin your choice to give em to Andie er anythin, jes wonderin if they are worth tryin to keep in the truck, I don't care for alot of juices, gatoraids er anythin, I drink em though, but they don't mix well wit coffee, I've tried :)
andiesmama - April 28, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
Compared to the snot drinks, probably not as healthy. BUT the V8 Fusion drinks are 100% juice, reconstituted vegetable & fruit juices and water. No sugar added~

I'd sooner take a V8 than drink a cup of acidic & dehydrating coffee. :)

So Squatty....what's YOUR favourite green smoothie?

hmmm....don't really have one...whatever wifey whips up is what I drink as I drive to work...also, usually have a quart in my lunch.
The only thing that I've found I don't like in the smoothie is broccoli...need that crap steamed...
Doesn't really matter whats in it as long as there is plenty of fruit and ice...
Course ice is tough on regular blenders...so you need the power of the 5 benjamin Vitamix...hehe.
