Title: Raspy's Cloning thread.....
Description: or why I don't have a problem with it...

Well Lets start with Plant and lower animal cloning -

IF we could create a product with faster growth times that was safe to eat hunger issues worldwide suddenly have a chance to shrink considerably (that's for the lands we'd be able to drop the food to.....

The species we might be able to bring back from the brink of (ore even from beyond) extinction

Human cloning - I don't know if god would grace it with a soul or not, or if it would be some souless dumb animal, but we have yet to get there (to my knowledge)

Cloning human organs - I just had a niece die from not being able to get a heart transplant, and a necrotic lower intestine... I wonder why I would support that....

I believe in pushing science...

I would like to know what would happen if we could clone a person... would htey be brainless vegetables that have to spend years developing, could we just easy bake oven them..... could htere be any way to DL your mind / soul into the new body maybe one free from cancer or with that pesky severed spinal column repaired....

could we correct the imperfections so that we could live a better quality of life?

I'm interested in finding hte answers to these questions thought he cynnical prick in me things it would all crash and burn around us I'm not a typical Christian,

I haven't really seen anythin you've said that I would disagree wit. Though, in the other thread you said you were for clonin in any way, shape, er form. That's what surprised me.

Like I said over there I would be for clonin of transplant organs an then I'm not even sure clonin is the right word anyways, because clonin is makin a copy of sumthin an you don't want a copy of a bad organ.

I'm wit you in the curiosity of what would a full term cloned human end up bein. The only issue I have a problem wit is how they obtain the cells for all of this, since adults do have these oh so special cells an you can obtain them from ambilical cords etc then in my opinion/belief, there is no need to harvest children in order to further science.

One thin folks seem to over look an by that I mean the guys wit the phd's is we can not in any way perfect what God has already made. I know alot of folks will disagree wit that statment on the whole if you think bout it, all anyone is doin is screwin round wit what God has already made an the simple fact of the matter is, right now we are runnin out of base pairs in regards to seedlings for example, jes bout everthin bein grown right now is all hybird stuff. Because we are not God, mark my words, we're goin to end up destroyin oursef's in jes makin some new hybird plant. It's simply because, I believe, that we as dumb humans can not see all the potential problems that would lead to us killin our own food source.

But, like you I agree wit growin new organs, jes not harvestin them like star trek voyager an the phasge guys :P

I have mixed feelings on this one...

Don't think I've thought it through enough to take a side...

Sometimes I feel that God is total control of life and death and that we shouldn't interfere with Him and that process...

I haven't had to deal with the loss of a child, but I can see how that might influence this decision...

LIke I said in the other thread--The anti-christ will be a clone---Soulless-because he will be created by man. and Evil--because God creates us in His image--the clone will not be created by God and will therefore not have that divine spark--perfect being for satan to take hold of...
