12. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
I wish we had some! Last year we had snow on Christmas Eve/Day and it stuck! First white Christmas in recorded history in Houston. People's attitudes changed! Now, if that happened every year, I think it would become old-hat. But last year was memorable!

Yeah, forward only. But they don't rent 12-wide skates.

My favorite gift actually arrived on December 21, 1994. I kissed the lady that would later become my wife.
QUOTE
15. What's the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Christ.
Our preacher taught about Bethlehem and it's accepting nature. His sermon for Christmas was on Ruth and Boaz. Bethlehem accepted Moabite Ruth. Bethlehem accepted Christ. We should also accept outsiders.

My mother-in-law's pecan pie!
QUOTE

Caroling. I'm thinking about starting a new one this year. I'll stand in the cul-de-sac and sing while holding a candle... or a flashlight...
QUOTE

It was just a spire. But when Nichole turned two, she threw such a fit that there should be a star, so we impaled a star ornament we had on the spire...
QUOTE
19. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving?
Giving. One year finances were quite thin at our house (not that they're thick this year, but it's better!), and I had one package to open. I loved watching my daughters' eyes light up when they opened their gifts. If I don't receive anything, I'm just happy I could give my family something.
QUOTE
20. What is your favorite Christmas Carol?
The oldest one. O Come, O Come Emmanuel. Scholars believe it to be about 1200 years old. It's roots are in prophecy. It addresses every one of Israel's issues before the Messiah, and shows how Christ answered each of those issues.
Not to mention that it's just plain beautiful.

21. Candy Canes! Yuck or yum?
Yum! Especially dipped in coffee!

It would be more fun if y'all came down here to try it....but here's the "recipe" for what it's worth. Now remember, my grandmother is 95 years young so she just wrote it down from memory....nothing really "specific"...
Cheesy Onion Casserole
Sweet onions, chunked (amount depends on how much you're making, I use 1 large onion per person; I use Vidalia onions)
Butter
Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can cheddar cheese soup
breadcrumbs
pepper
Preheat oven to 350 F. Saute onions in butter until soft. Season with pepper if desired. Add the can of cheese soup to the onions in the pan, stir until mixed. Add more shredded cheese if it's not cheesy enough for ya. Mix in breadcrumbs until the consistency you like. Dump into casserole dish, sprinkle more breadcrumbs on top. Stick in oven, cook until warm & bubbly....about 1/2 hour or so.
