Title: Light bulbs an seat belts
Description: it truly never ends.....

I learned some interestin facts bout floresant light bulbs yeserday. As some of you may know, congress.. in thier infintie wisdom has passed a bill that would require ALL of the U.S. users of light bulbs to swap over to the floresant light bulbs by.. mm I think it is 2011.

Well, what's wrong wit that you might ask? Well for starters... who is the government to tell me that I must use such an such light bulb to begin wit? One idiot made the claim "What's next a law to require me to wear a seatbelt?" After makin fun of a republican senator in MN for bringin the Freedom of choice (light bulb) act before congress.

Well... who the hell is the government to require me to wear a seat belt anyways? Honestly, if I choose not to wear a seat belt an I die from it, so what? This is the problem wit big government an namely liberals an democrates, no not all, but a great deal of em. If I choose to kill mysef witout wearin a seat belt then it's my choice, I should have the freedom to choose, same wit light bulbs, but le's look at it a bit.

CFL's Compact Floresant light
They save power
they last longer
uh...
yeah.. erm.. sure there's sumthin else....
oh well.. I cain't member... BUUUUTTTT le's see what the draw backs are....

They ONLY save power AFTER 15 mins of use
They do NOT last 4 times longer, as they claim, though they DO last longer then conventional light bulbs.
They have 3 to 5 grams of MERCURY in them an are a hazoardous material at that amount and require hazemat spill cordination for broken bulbs.
they cost 5 times the amount of a regular bulb.
Most, but not all, do NOT work on dimmer switches er work in such applications as chandeliers.

There's storeis I've listened to that say that if one of these bulbs breaks on carpet then the carpet must be cut out an thrown away, crazy stuff like that, oh, now one other good point for them, they reduce the amount of mercury that is blown out smoke stacks from power plants... only... how many of you go into a room, click on the light, git sumthin, then walk out an shut it off agin? Thus not savin anythin at all. It will only save power if left on for longer then 15 mins, because it takes that long for the thin to do it's heatin up an workin ordeal.

So what do we have? If we leave the light bulb out of it we're right back to the shear stupidity of the left wing nonsense. The government is workin on a dictatorship, they are constantly takin more an more freedom away from us an sayin they are freein us up!? Now how do you figure when they keep passin stupid bills like this??

How bout the tv ordeal... I have heard that a 42 inch plasma tv uses three times the amount of power as does a 36 inch (I believe) conventional tv, I furgot the size on the conventional, but here we are, the government is forcin everbody to go onto these other types of tv's an the like an it's actually causin more power useage in the US then does a regular tv.

It all boils down to freedom an liberty, the federal govenment shouldn't be comin into my house an tell me that I cain't use this light bulb, if it keeps goin, how long can we use our puters on a daily basis? Er can we only do landry on fridays er will we be on some stupid schedule?

Here's another dumb deal.. I pay fuel tax, do you know that the fuel tax, well we all pay, I jes pay more hehe, that most of the fuel tax goes to stupid programs like, the light rail system in Denver? Er MN? I don't use it, someone else does, AND they pay for it when they use it as well! But they use these monies from us to keep those thins afloat. No, this if for no other reason is why I could never latch onto the ideals of the democratic party.. that is.. if they knew what thier ideals were in the first place. Enough wit govenment already, they are not uncle money bags an their job is NOT to take my money an give it to a slacker somewhere. We most certainly need less government.

I for one, if I could in some way, support the freddom of choice light bulb act ordeal. It's stupid that the government should try an use sumthin like the enviroment supposeed crisis to force me to use a dangerous light bulb in my home, I'm not worried bout my death, but my children, my wife? You betchya!

Sorry sqaut.. I realize this was probly to long agin for you to bother readin....... Sufice it to say, we were not in any way shape er form talkin bout hooters, the lottery er you :P

I don't think anybody is requiring a plasma television, just a digital tuner.

you cain't view tv witout a digital tuner, but that's only the beginin, because those will be phased out as well an then you'll have nuthin but lcd er plasma tv's, but it's kinda not really the point I was tryin to make.
