Sarah - March 20, 2008 04:14 PM (GMT)
Someone who can go to Canada and clean up her computer for her. She's had a bug that's been trying to send files over MSN for a couple months now. So who's nearest?
Honey - March 20, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
My brother said he was gonna come over and see what he can do about it. :wall:

sigh... Lena, I KNOW Sarah has told you how to fix this cause I told er what you needed to git, sooooooo...... what's the problem? I know your on a bit of a sissy connection, are you unable to download the files she told you to git? Is it a matter of not bein able to follow the directions er the like? I don't mean this meanily, what I would like though is to help as much as possible, so what IS the trouble? An does your brother know anythin bout pc's?

This AVG thing I'm downloading right now is expected to take 8 hours to download. I've tried this several times and it cuts out (stops loading due to some error) about halfway done.
I have windows defender and right now it says my computer is running normally. The only thing that's going on is folks receiving weird files and messages through MSN chat.
Honey - March 20, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
I just got this error message from trying to download AVG.
Extracting license_us.txt
Extracting avgsetup.exe
CRC failed in avgsetup.exe
Unexpected end of archive.
What does all that mean?
Addicted2~Jesus - March 20, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
Maybe we oughta send you a cd............................
avg is only a free anti-virus program, an I don't think you have a "virus". What bout spybot er adaware? Have you cleaned out your temp files? Not jes net files, deleted your recent downloded programs etc? I cain't give you the locations at the moment, can do it when I git out of the city. Seems there was a question bout wether er not you had winrar er winzip on your system, did you fix that? The unexpected end of the archive is a problem wit the source file, bad download, corypt etc. But the only way you would have gotten that would have been from a completed download er windows thought it was done an left a setup file on your desktop etc, sumthin you could click on an then git that error.
hmmmm... have you got er do you know if you have a program like netmeetin? I'm sure there are newer versions/different versions out there... maybe one of us can log onto your puters desktop an see whats goin on.

I did the housecall and yes, it took at least 4-5 hours to load it. It found the malvirus, but I don't think it cleaned it up. I'll try it again on Sunday or something. We're not doing anything so nobody should bother me.
Right now I'm downloading
Spyware Doctor with Antivirus .
20% complete with 6 hours to go! Whoohoo! :bounce:

If you want to block and delete me for the time being, go right ahead. I won't be offended. It drives ME insane when family and other friends get viruses and they send stuff to me...or when they pop up saying that they got this message....blah, blah, blah and I'm like, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?????? That's not me, ya dipstick!

I think I know where the problem comes from. Facebook. As soon as I went on facebook, the Spyware Dr went NUTS! Blocked malicious action a few times.
Sarah - March 22, 2008 02:08 PM (GMT)
That's weird. I don't have any problems with Facebook.
