Title: For the guys

Honey - March 13, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
This week hubby's been having to start work at 11am but he leaves home at 9:30 am. It's a 25 minute drive to work...with clear roads. Messy roads, takes longer.

So the other day I asked him why he leaves SO early to get to work. He gets an HOUR of FREE time to himself! I even tried stalling him one morning....I mean, geez, he got his panties in a bunch because he was gonna be "late" for work!

Do any of you guys get yourselves to work an HOUR or MORE early??

Heck, I don't EVER get an hour to myself.... :nails:

I'd be suspicious......

Nope, I'm lucky if I get there two minutes early.

Then again I'm not a morning person.

I wouldn't be suspicoius, shame on ya String, don't put these doubts in Lena's mind, as if he has a pit stop for a lil piece in the mornin er sumthin like, er a boy toy er sumthin.. shame shame String

The situation doesn't apply to me, cause.. well I'm always at work.. but I do like it when Sarah goes to bed, cause then I play for an hour er so at night. That an.. I cain't play a game while she's up, EVEN if she's up in another room.. womans got to be asleep er I totally suck... don't ask me why...

I know Sarah doesn't git an hour to ersef, she does when I'm gone, after the kids are asleep etc, but I do try an take the kids out once in a while, er even watch the kids an let er go shoppin er sumthin.

Answering for DH, he gets to work with about 5-10 minutes to spare. If he needs alone time he goes for a run or takes a nap when he gets home :)

I take thje train form my commute I get most of my alone time there.. but with my temper sometimes I need to go for a drive or bolt for a couple hours especially when my son starts acting like me... damn I forgot how annoying I was as a child....

Suspicious of what? Nah...he's not THAT type of guy. :naughty:

What I can't figure...how can he need a whole hour of doing nothing? We do have a Bible in our minivan and he says he chats to the other guys at work.... :dunno:

I was just curious if other dudes have to take over an hour just to get to work....

Nah, it takes Ty about an hour to GET to work.....for his alone/downtime, he either goes fishing at the end of the road when he gets home or sits on the lanai smoking/drinking a beer/watching tv/etc.... B)

See, an hour after work I'd have no problem with. But this guy goes TO work to get his "free hour". :screwy:

My other question is:

In BAD winter weather...I mean, crazy white stuff whipping around, roads terrible, very low visibility and all that other fun stuff....do you husbands call your wife to make sure she KNOWS you're at work safe and sound? Mine doesn't. He refuses to. He doesn't like using the company's phone and he has to pay a WHOLE, whoppin' looney (dollar coin) to use a freakin' pay phone. Getting him a cell phone would be a complete waste of money. So on the bad weather days, knowing he won't call me, I sit around waiting for a cop or hospital to call me instead. How do I know if he got to work safely?? :bored:

Yeah, smoke signals...now why didn't I think of that? :lena:

They don't have email at work. He doesn't want to ask his friends to use their cell phone, either...

He either calls or IM's. I've never asked him to, he just does :)
