U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has dismissed as "ridiculous" any suggestion that the resignation of America's military chief in the Middle East signals the United States is planning to go to war with Iran.
Adm. William Fallon resigned Tuesday as chief of U.S. forces in the Middle East and Central Asia after just a year in the post, citing what he called an inaccurate perception that he is at odds with the Bush administration over Iran. |
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/03...llon/index.htmlI don't trust the Bush administration. I can see us going to war with Iran before he leaves office next January. I think they forced out this admiral because he opposed it.
Well I agree wit you, I no longer trust Bush either, while I did support em in the past, he's totally tanked everthin for several years now, I don't know if we'll go to war wit iran er not, but in some respects, iran is pushin many many buttons, even though if we did go to war, it would be claimed that the US is the aggressor, in realtiy the US would be on the defensive. Irans presdient is really pushin the US right now. I'm willin to go to war for defensivness, but otherwise no. I still support troops in Iraq, if we pull out, someone like Iran would no doubt invade, wether openly er jes allow another dictatorship to take over agin.
We can all agree I think, that there will NOT be peace in the middle east, not until the tribulation then it'll only be a flase peace anyways. Hopefully the US won't be streched any thinner then it is right now but we'll see, I do doubt that admrial resigned because of that though, the chain of command doesn't work that way, er least it didn't used to, who knows it might be, but I doubt that was the reason.
