MN has alot of problems in government at the moment, but this is one I could agree wit, those who are opposed to the law that is. I don't like smokin, I grew up wit it, I cain't stand it, but MN went an forced ever place of buisness in MN to go smoke free, ok well I support that, buuuuuuutttttt... they made this new law that forbid smokin in bars, so to git around it, theatrical actors are exmept from the law, so what the people were doin was claimin all thier customers were actors in these bars an would allow smokin.
The problem I have here is, there is far more people who actually go to the bar to smoke, the government is takin these guys to court, finin them 10k per instances etc.
Well personnaly this is steppin over the line. Why is it the government is forcin this in this regard? Smokers have rights, fine, but so do non-smokers. Why on earth can they not allow bars to allow smokin an then set up some non-smokin bars. I think the whole thin is pretty stupid anyways, but I think it's insane that the government is wastin soooo much time an money on this.
The argument could be made like this, if you don't want to be round smokers, then don't go to the smokin bar! This is one of those, goin to force folks to conform to sumthin that many MANY folks shouldn't even be part of. I mean, if you don't go to the bars anyways what does it matter?
Another thin that MN is tryin to push is forcin students from wearin perfumes etc because it *might* cause asthma attacks. Ok look, I have asthma, an YES overwelmingly YES stuff affects me an causes attacks. But rather then forcin the entire school system to punish all students, why on earth not make arrangements to asthmatics to git some cleaner air, er move away, er sumthin of that nature?? This directly affects me an I STILL don't think the needs of the few should out weigh that of the many. Govenment is WAY WAY to big as it is, an we certainly don't need more government.
well for the asthmatic thing, the kids could find out if they have any classes with the asthmatic nad either not wear perfume if they are in x radius of said asthmatic or something like....
