Title: Vaccine study
Description: interesting

Keneke - January 15, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
I've been reading up on VAX lately and getting myself more familiar with them. Came across this and thought it was interesting...

QUOTE
Rates of autism have increased in California despite the removal of the preservative thimerosal from childhood vaccines seven years ago, a finding that researchers say disproves the theory that the mercury in thimerosal causes the mysterious neurological disorder.

The study, which analyzed autism rates in young children over a 12-year period, is the first to offer hard evidence that thimerosal plays no role in autism. Results of the study were released Monday in the Archives of General Psychiatry, a publication of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Um, that's bullshit. I have a child who is proof that those shots DO cause autism. Maybe not EVERY child, but it does. Pisses me off when I see articles like that. Those idiots can take their "research and studies" and shove it up their tight asses. There are tons of parents who can say the same thing as I do.

Thanks for the piss off. :nono:

Stringaling - January 15, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
I heard about that.....

sf49erfan - January 15, 2008 08:04 PM (GMT)
I'm guess there is more than one cause and that it is likely something that the child or the mother carrying the child was exposed to.

I'm also guessing that Austim was around before the invention of mercury-based vaccinations.

Honey - January 15, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
There is definitely more than one cause, but being a mother who knows her baby, my son's was definitely the vaccine shots. I was there when he was screaming all night long and there was no calmin him, I was there when he had a SERIOUS fever and was told "it was nothing" after his shots. I was there when he had major diarrhea. He stopped his baby babbling, he stopped all eye contact. He kept himself in a corner, in his own little world.

Now, other causes are genetics, environment, brain disorder and the immune system. Yes, autism's been around for ages. Over 40 years ago. But now it's just shooting WAY up there. 1 in 150 kids will get autism. So I heard last. :dunno:

So why are the cases going up even after they stopped adding the mercury to the vaccinations? There must be something else that is commonly in a baby's environment.

Honey - January 15, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Don't ask me. I don't know. What I do know is each case of autism is unique. There's several different causes and no 2 cases are the same.

It's surprising that this comes from California because I always heard that they had such "clean air". So if California's environment is going down...there goes the world! J/K :|

THIS is my question too.

I wanted to add:
This isn't against you Honey or your family. It's a new study that came out that raises some questions. I'm someone who likes to read up on things and stay on top of studies etc. to see what's happening.
I hope you didn't it as an attack. :(

andiesmama - January 15, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Sheesh, K......always trying to stir up trouble, eh?? :gotcha:

Personally, I'm sure the mercury or SOMEthing in those vaccines have something to do with autism. But I also think there are other contributing factors.

But what do I know?

Thimerosal has NOT been removed from all vaccines. Many vaccines given to kids and babies and even pregnant women STILL have mercury in it. Did you know that the flu vaccine given routinely to pregnant women and babies contains the highest dose of mercury?

Keneke - January 15, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Right. The flu vax contains it...

Honey - January 15, 2008 11:24 PM (GMT)
EVERY shot contains mercury. It's a preservative to prevent it from going bad. And PUHLEEZ don't tell me to "lighten up". Walk a mile in my shoes (and every other parent who's going through a similar lifestyle) first.

As I've said, each case is different, every autistic child has a different "cause". Isaiah's IS the shots and this is what ticks me off when I read these so-called "studies". The government has from the beginning screwed everyone over....they still do. They "say" they do this and that just so they can shut some people up for a while and yet continue on in ignorance.

Just my $.02

are the vax's in Canada different? The ones here (according to SARAHS link) are mostly Mercury free. :dunno:

Honey - January 16, 2008 12:12 AM (GMT)
Why would they be different? I did google it and came up with the same thing.

Sarah - January 16, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
There's no safe level of mercury so even "mostly" mercury free is still bad. But mercury is not the only thing we have to worry about in vaccines - Formaldehyde, Antifreeze, Methanol, Borax, MSG and many more.

Honey - January 16, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
:agree: Although I use "Borax" for washing clothes....:D

I agree the Vax may have some ' " stuff in them. I just don't buy (atm) that mercury in the VAX leads to autism alone. I think that maybe the mercury (although now it's only flu shots with them) along with OTHER factors can cause autism. My POV shifts the more I read. That's where I am currently.

If you look at the table I posted mercury is not only in flu shots it's in other vax's as well it's just in the highest concentration in the flu shot.

Honey - January 16, 2008 12:30 PM (GMT)
The other thing could be just more awareness which could be why autism "skyrocketed" over the past decade. If you look under the PDD-NOS umbrella....there's tons of possible causes. Autism alone is only one little drop off from that HUGE umbrella. So instead of nitpicking autism, do ALL the research! :P

But I stand firm with the yes, those shots very much CAN fry one's brain enough to make the child mentally ill. That's a harsh way of putting it, but that's exactly what it is. There have been cases where babies have actually died from these shots, but they say it's "SID". Are you looking into that, too? :)

Sarah - January 16, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, is it just conincidence that the age where most babies die from SIDS is when the highest number of shots are given?

Yeah, and I've got MSG in the spice cabinet. B)

I've only used a quarter of a teaspoon in over a year...

jessesgirl - January 28, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
I don't know whether it does or doesn't. Studies are too inconclusive for me to be sure one way or another. I do know that I'll be waiting on the MMR vacc for Justin...at least until he is older. His pedi and I have already had that discussion so until I feel comfortable with him getting it (yes I know that isn't the only one linked to autism, but it is the most prominent), he won't be. :booyah:
