Title: Are You Making Christmas Dinner?

LynnMcG - December 18, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
I honestly hadn't give this a great deal of thought until today. I was given a turkey that I thought about making, but as it turns out there will only be three adults and three kids here for Christmas so that seems like overkill. I'm thinking I might make a lasagna this week and freeze it for Christmas. Then we'll have a nice salad, some bread, and lasagna for Christmas dinner. Not exactly a Christmas goose dinner, but it sounds good to me!

What are you ladies doing for Christmas dinner?

I'm hosting it....YIKES!! lol For my in-laws, SIL, etc....8 adults total...anyways, we're having prime rib, baked potatoes, a couple sides (probably green bean casserole & a onion au gratin casserole)....so it'll be pretty easy. My MIL is bringing dessert, rolls, and drinks, and my SIL is bringing munchies to eat while we open gifts.

Wish me luck! lol

Good luck, Deb!

This Christmas day is just us at home, so it's nothing too fancy. Just a nice, lazy day...all you can eat all day long...:)

I'm hosting for the exchange students (those who don't have anywhere to go), plus my husband's ex-roommate and a lady we met at the pub (lol). Altogether we're going to have probably twelve or fifteen people. Luckily I have some help with cooking---my husband is going to take care of the Cornish hens and the steak, and a friend is helping to prepare everything else.

My sister & her husband are hosting it at their house. So, I'm probably going to make a dish that fulfills good eating for me...lower in carbs (only healthy carbs), high fat, moderate protein. Maybe I'll make 2 dishes. The dishes my sister makes typically is very high in grain carbs, which makes losing bodyfat for me difficult.

I'll find some tasty dishes....a salad and something that has protein.

Though, a Mexican dinner sounds great.....tamales....yummy....though, if I want to get into those Wicked Weasel bikinis, I'd better avoid that type of dinner....LOL.
