Title: What to do?

Honey - November 30, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Ok, to get right to topic here..............this may be a bit gross!

HOW do we get mother-in-law to change her towels?? (Told you it was gross!)

Seriously, she REFUSES to use any new towels that have been given her throughout the years and MANY Christmases she has received them as gifts. Now, I don't know where the stack of new towels are, probably in a box in their bedroom or something. It is REALLY grossing me out when I use the washroom and see this disgusting, limp wet and STINKY old towel hanging there and I'm expected to dry my hands with it. :puke: There's over 20 people....mostly kids. That SMALL towel is screaming bad germs!!!

I've taken some hand sanitizer with me anymore. But still, there's that towel situation. Any ideas?

Why not just tell her she should put out the new towels? I'm not sure what the relationship's like. I would just tell my MIL that her towels are worn out and she should use the new ones and then I'd offer to change them for her. She wouldn't have a problem with it... :dunno:

Everyone has told her to get out her new towels. She refuses. I've told her, her daughters have told her. She just won't do it.

I'm hoping somebody will get sneaky and find the towels....

Steal them. Get with everyone and make a plan... When anyone goes into the bathroom, bag the sucker and toss it out the window and pick it up on your way home and toss it.. B)

Eventually, with everyone doing it, she'll have to get out the new ones!

Uh, not likely.....but thanks. Nobody would go along with an idea like that.

I know I sound so nitpicky, but with cold & flu season here.....yanno?

Sure, she's got the new ones lying around, but since you don't know where they are, go buy a pretty new set, bring them with you one day, and just say something like, "These were on sale at WalMart and I thought they'd look so cute in your bathroom! Let's see what they look like!" Then go in there, dispose of the old  ones, and put up your new ones.

At least you'd have clean ones for THAT day.... B)

Or just start bringing your own hand towel with you every time you go there, put it in the bathroom and tell the kids to use it. When you leave, take it home with you, wash it and take it back again next time. etc etc

Seems a bit awful, I know, but if everyone has told her and she still won't do it, then she hasn't left you with many choices really.

(I was thinking along String's line as well but since that won't work Idon't think you're left with many other options but to take your own towel when you go)
