Title: Who prays before the food/eating in your house?

Both kiddo's have prayed for our food since I can remember. It's not a memorized prayer, it's what they want to pray for each given day. Their Bible School teachers are surprised that they pray. I was surprised they were surprised and thought most kids prayed but now I'm thinking maybe I'm wrong.
Do you pray before a meal? Is it a memorized prayer or not?
Just curious... :dunno:

We don't pray before meals, just never have. Then again, very rarely do we eat together as a family as Ty gets home past when Andie eats dinner.
Now that I think about it, nothing wrong with having she and I saying a little prayer before she eats. She's used to thanking God for stuff, she does it throughout the day, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to incorporate it into meals as well!
Thanks, and no you're not weird.........on THIS topic, anyways. :gotcha:

It's nearly always my kids who pray before the meal. They've done that most of the time since they have been old enough.
Whether it is a memorized prayer or not depends on them at the time. It also varies from child to child. My middle one nearly always uses a traditional grace but the other two usually say their own thing. The youngest sometimes likes us to sing grace but they can get a bit long and the other two complain

Yes, we do. Always have. Kids have an English prayer and I have a short German prayer I was taught since I was a kid.

We always do. Kat even says grace before snacks as well. We also say it when we eat out and not just at home.

My oldest usually says the prayer before dinner. It usually starts out as a memorized prayer, but doesn't always end that way.
