Title: Are they wrong?

Are Abortions wrong?
I'm not asking if they should be outlawed in this country or not but is having an abortion wrong? I was reading on some other forum  b/c none of you thugs were here today and two Christians mentioned that if they were to get pregnant right now they would abort  . I'm stunned that #1. someone would admit it and #2. They already had their minds set to having one and #3. Someone would even have that as an option :( BUT...it got me thinking...How can a Christian have one? I'm so confused. :string:

I guess they're not convicted that it would be wrong for them.
It's not for me to say whether or not they're a Christian, but in my heart I don't think that a fully committed Christian would consider an abortion.
To answer your OT question: Yes, IMHO abortions are wrong. And that should be all the answer you require. :P

Terminating another's life is always wrong, regardless of their age, condition, or even their wishes. That's not to say we should keep everyone on life-support indefinitely, in cases where they will never be able to be self-sustaining again, but just let people die naturally, when God decides.
I really am amazed that anyone who sees themself as a Christian can see this as an option. It just shows how powerfully persuasive mass media has been in selling this horrible act. It seems some cave to the emotional "pro-choice" arguments without using their moral compass to ask themselves if it is really okay. It's like they really don't even see it for what it is, instead adopting the sanitized description the liberals pitch at us: it's not killing an unborn child, it's terminating a pregnancy; not pro-infanticide, pro-choice; not an extremely selfish action, a woman's choice; not murdering the newest member of your family, family planning. It's horrific really.
Have you seen the saline buring deaths, the dismembering of fetus by forceps, or the rare partial birth abortion, where scissors, or something like that, is used to sever the brain stem. It's brutal stuff--as bad as any of the holocaust tortures reported, but we Americans are doing it with the same deadened consciences through which the Germans were able to commit their crimes. I don't think this is sensationalizing this act one bit . . . in fact it's probably understatement, as I do not think any words can fully express the horror of abortion.

I agree.
I think I may have read the same thread where some people said they would abort. I hope and pray that if they were actually in that situation they would hear the Spirit of God telling them not to murder this innocent little one.
I also pray they will not encourage others to make what is likely to become the biggest regret of their lives.
As christians there is no doubt that abortion is sin, however even in the unbelieving world, statistics show that most women live with deep regret over their choice, suffer for years and years many, with depression and other health issues. It is inate in us not to harm our own children. I believe that is part of the image of God still in all people, broken as that image is by sin.
It is a horrible death that many have become indifferent too. :(
Father, forgive us

good points...
I have never come across a fellow believer who would admit they'd have one. I guess I was just shocked.

You are wrong about this. Exodus 21 is full of instances where God commanded the people to put someone to death. Therefore terminating another's life is NOT always wrong, in fact is is sometimes commanded by God.
This doesn't have anything to do with abortions, but your statement was plainly false.
