It has taken a while but we are finally acting on the poll we took about the men’s and women’s forums.
The poll was close but Option 2 was the leading vote and, in addition, there was at least one moderator who didn’t vote and would also have voted for option 2.
Based on the poll, we have changed the title of the forums to men’s and women’s ‘topics’ and they are now open for all to post in.
For those topics that anyone would like to keep private for their own gender, you may add the title “Women only” or “Men only” in the topic description. This will be clearly visable when accessing 'today's active threads'. When this is added no cross gender posting will be allowed and will be enforced. Although not enforceable, we also ask that privacy in these threads be respected.
This format leaves the board as open as possible and still allows for those special posts that are particularly gender sensitive. Even though, as it has been stated, that sensitive was usually present, this gives some assurance to the poster and also provides for growth when that sensitivity may not be so evident.
Although this was not everyone’s first choice, after hearing from you, we have gone with the majority. Thanks everyone for participating in the discussion.
