What hobbies do you have?

DaBronx - December 15, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
I love doing arts and crafts... I like doing shadow boxes and give them as gifts.

My husband's friend actually has family that want to "order" some from me but after I warned them that they can be quite expensive I haven't heard back... Too bad I would have LOVED to do some for them.

I was at an art supply store just this afternoon getting ideas for more!

Were you born in Da Bronx? Or are you from some other place?

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

(Money is no object because...Mdolls68 is buying!)

My entire family is from Puerto Rico although my paternal Grandfather (who raised me) is half Lebanese.

I was born in Manhattan but raised in Da Bronx... It wasn't until after I had my son that I moved out. He was 2 when we left my apartment in the South Bronx. I got just a little bit tired of the shoot outs and my friends were getting mugged in the hallways when they came to visit...

First went to Louisianna a friend invited me to come down and live with her...I liked it there - the cowboys were (Oh, OK, I'm Christian now must calm down!!)

...Anyway, I was a little bored there (yes even with the thought I could one day marry a cowboy and ride horses the rest of my life) and came back to NY... Lived with my Grandfather for nine months then got my own place in Queens... met my husband, became born again, and then The Lord moved us to New Jersey.

But my heart will always be in The Bronx

I know, I know :violin:

:D

Wow...Good question...

Nobody said this was going to be hard! :o LOL

OK... Going only by stories because I've never been there:
North Carolina

People are moving there in droves they are calling it The Christian Exodus...Church members have visited there and one family already moved there another is looking to buy a house and I hear it's always warm...

I'm getting a little tired of this cold weather... So, my answer is North Carolina (for now)

Hahaha...

Let's see... It's like a regular frame that you hang on the wall except it's deeper so you can put three dimensional stuff in it.

I made one for my husband's friend (she just had a baby) and I put hand painted blocks in it, a crib, hung a tiny frame on the "wall"... Simply put, I decorated it to look like a tiny baby's room.

Hope I explained it right.

Ok...my question....what is your favorite way to escape?

Favorite way to escape? Like from danger? or a really boring party? or someone whose conversation is...well...making you want to slit your wrists?

Hmmm... OK

From danger (back in my days in the Bronx): I used to talk my way away kind of acting like I didn't know this person was trying to harm me and leave the situation quickly... it didn't always work but it didn't hurt to try since a lot of the times it did.

Boring party: Have to get home to the babysitter always worked best

Boring person: Depends where we are...Usually I'll act like I see someone that I need to talk to or have some appointment I need to get to but most of the time I just stick it out... I hate being rude.

Is this what you meant?

What is your favorite animal and why?

I absolutely love all animals and all for very different reasons but I guess if I had to pick one it would be a dog.

I love their loyalty, the way they show affection and believe it or not I really do like walking the dog (Shhh, don't tell my husband I love using walking the dog as a bargaining chip... like he doesn't know I like doing the dishes, too!)

I have a 3lb. Yorkie that is the most work I've ever had!

I have to say Hamsters are my second favorite :D But they are now banned from my house because everytime they die it's hell in the house, I cry and cry and since they only live a couple of years my husband is like: That's it, no more!

I know, I know :violin:

I've never been to the East Coast (except Jacksonville, FL and DC). If I were going to NYC for vacation with my family, and you were my tour guide, where would you take me?

Wow...Let's see...totally depends on the time of year:

Winter: Rockefeller Center for ice skating, Museums (my favorite is the Museum of Natural History) Get you some tickets to a Broadway show and definitely visit Times Square Church! I like going there on Friday nights.

Summer: Walk through Central Park and watch the performers, at least one Street Fair, visit Lady Liberty (the Ferry ride is great) The Empire State Building and definitely a visit to Times Square Church! ;)

There is so much to do there... I probably left out a million things!
