Can you have 2 PCs using the same internet connection just by running an ethernet cable between them?

Actually, yes. But it's pretty difficult to set up. You'd be better buying a $10 router online and using it to share the connection.

It's not at all as simple as you are thinkin er even what Clay said, it depends on your current topology. If you connect to the net through a usb er sumthin other then an already established ethernet connection then you *could* do it but it's a mess. If you already have a connection but usin an ethernet card to connect to the net you'd need another card for the puter that's doin the sharin. There's jes not a wired port for you to plug into other wise. I actually haven't messed wit the wireless stuff so there might be sumthin to be gained by doin that though.

What is your current setup? You have a cable/dsl modem? usb connect er sumthin of that nature?

I'm using my cell phone, which is connected to a USB port. It'd be handy to share the connection sometimes, when we both want to go to our forums and check messages and such. But if it's a hassle to do, I may as well pass.
