There's a new book out about a disgraced Cowboys quarterback.

QUOTE
After five long years in federal prison, Griff Burkett is a free man. But the disgraced Cowboys quarterback can never return to life as he knew it before he was caught cheating. In a place where football is practically a religion, Griff committed a cardinal sin, and no one is forgiving.

How was this woman able to write this without incurring the wrath of the Dallas Cowboys?

Maybe this should have gone in the sports section, but it is about a book.

Who knows what she's faced writing this book :dunno:

It's fiction - anything can happen in fiction. Not sure why she chose to use the cowboys but I read a summary of the book and boy is it fiction. Good book for the beach I guess :P

They may be "wrathful" but "freedom of speech" lets people go too far sometimes...

He played for the cowboys. That's disgraceful enough.

How is she going too far?

IMO its too far when you write a book detailing someone else's failures. We all fail, and its not fair to publish each other's mistakes for all the world to see and to profit off someones mistakes...Talk about humiliating for the subject of the book...I'm sure the author herself would absolutely die if her screw ups were turned into $$ for someone else and made public..

But if this is fiction what does it matter as far as failures go? I gave up on the dallas cowboys some where round.. oh I donno 20 years ago....

But it's fiction. The character is fiction so who is it hurting? The team?
