having a meltdown regarding OS starting school :( I was happy until today and now I'm in tears! I can't believe I'm crying over this. Ugh!
So...parents of kids that are in school...how did you handle this? Please no debate on HS vs. PS...

:hug: All I can say is it does get better with time. It's perfectly normal to have mixed feelings of your "little baby" going out into the "big world" and so suddenly!! On the first day of school, you will likely be watching the clock tick every second and will likely worry if things are ok at school. Been there, done that. Know exactly how you feel. :hug:

One thing I did do and should NOT have done was look at the baby pictures. That made things worse! :doh: For me, anyway.

PS: All of our kids are "in school" whether it's HS or PS. ;)

It's the first time I'm letting someone else be his teacher you know? I think that's the hardest part for me ATM. I'm looking forward to bonding more with my YS but still so hard to accept I no longer have my OS at home with me :( :cry:

I love my kids but dear Lord I am so happy when they go back to school because they dont' drive Misty nuts al lday long and I don't have to endure another "Do you know what your children did today?" rant

He starts Kindergarten on 8/27. Never went to preschool etc. They've been home with me :(

Well look at tit this way--Now he will be bringing home plenty of Refrigerator decorations and cards and gifts to you..:)

I thought I had it under control until I was talking to mom this morning and she was asking me about it, and I started getting all weepy!! :hide:

All I need to do is hold it together enough to send her off on the bus Monday morning, then I can come home and cry in my coffee! B)

:cry: :hug: I was fine too until today. Today is the last day of registration (so all the last paper work MUST be in today) AND it's also the day he takes school pictures. My baby is growing up... :cry:

Monday is the big day. I did well this week. I didn't cry :thanks: I am still sad he's starting though. But he's soooo excited and he received a postcard from his teacher in the mail today welcoming him to her class. He was THRILLED to get mail. I thought that was really nice of her to do :D

That's kind of how I was.......I couldn't really think about it before the "big day", but once we met her teacher the week before and I really saw how excited Andie was, it made it better.

It went well.
We (all 4 of us) walked to school, he lined up on the pink chalk line and then his teacher came out and said hi to each student. She is VERY pretty and young so he's happy :P
She told them to wave goodbye to us and they all marched in. We walked home and played around for a bit with YS who was really quiet...
Then we walked back and picked him up. He was happy. They did a craft today and learned a song about colors. They also did some shape drawing. He was there for an hour and 1/2 today...
Cute class, fun parents, we're excited...
And I teared up but never cried... :thanks: yet :rollseyes:

Yeah, I bet other DS will be feeling kinda weird without big bro at home.....

So far it's been a + experience. We received an email from the superintedent and from the PTA today welcoming us etc. There's an ice cream social this thursday to welcome families too. :D
