Title: What's For Dinner Tonight?
LynnMcG - December 13, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)
We're having spaghetti and meat balls. I made it last week and froze half a pot. So it's a no brainer for me.
How about you guys?

Kinda a no-brainer...I'm taking some leftover london broil & cutting that into bite sized pieces, sauteeing it with onions & mushrooms, adding a jar of gravy, & we'll eat that over rice....:yum:

I'm going to have some fruit probably. My husband will have whatever he has in his fridge in the barracks (I'm guessing microwave pizza). His fault for not coming home for dinner, because he does have time.

I love stew. And pot roast. I made a pot roast on Sunday. I made enough to get a second meal out of it. Great comfort food.

We had garlic chicken that was just divine. Unfortunately, my house now stinks. :D

Okay you know we are on a vegetarian fast for the Feast of the Nativity(Christmas) Well the other day I tried a recipe that I thought would kill me. It was called Veggie joes. Kind of like sloppy joes but with veggies instead of meat. The "meat" was made of lentils, carrots, elery, and onions...really wierd. It wasn't that bad, but it definately wasn't a sloppy joe! BUT it was low calorie and virtually fat free and tasted tolerable, so.... I guess I'll add that to our vegetarian recipe box....
LynnMcG - December 15, 2005 02:54 PM (GMT)
oooh, sorry Stringaling...we're having "real" sloppy joes tonight. That's so funny though that I would post this after you.

Sloppy Joes sounds like an idea....

Lynn...get OUTTA my HEAD!!!
I have "your" sloppy joe recipe on the menu, for dinner for us! Not tonight...the grocery store was having a sale on talapia, so we'll have that tonight, maybe sloppy joes tomorrow....

mmmmm I love tilapia! How are you making it?
andiesmama - December 15, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
I haven't decided yet...it's marinating now in Italian dressing...I usually bake it with a little of the dressing, butter, and dill... But I'm thinking I might fry it for a change of pace....altho baking it is ALOT easier!!
Mandy - December 16, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
We're having challah bread and perhaps some sort of salad.
Sarah - December 16, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
What's talapia?
We're having homemade chili, rice, pinto beans and salad.

Tilapia is a mild white fish, from Jamaica I think.
I take bread crumbs and butter and crumble it together, then put it on top and bake it. mmmm For the longest time my nephew thought it was chicken!! It was so funny because he refused to eat fish, but when I made Tilapia he'd eat a whole filet.
andiesmama - December 16, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
That's why I like it....it's so mild....not "fishy" tasting at all...
Honey - December 17, 2005 11:35 PM (GMT)
Having pizza. Didn't get any last night because hubby was too tired, so tonight we'll eat pizza and watch a movie! :booyah: Haven't done that in a LONG time.
