Title: Exercise Accountability 2?
Description: EVERYBODY WELCOME!
Honey - July 18, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
Is anyone up for another round? :shakeit: The other thread is way DEAD. :nono:
I'm still doing my stuff:
Warm up/Stretches
Belly Cardio Blast
Weights (I use 3 lbs for now...now upgraded to 5 lbs!)
Core Abs (belly, chest, back, shoulders)
Lower Body (hips, butt, thighs, legs)
Shake it Off Shimmying (self explanatory )
Belly Floor Workout
Cool Down
I squeeze in skipping and elliptical trainer every now and then, too.
I'm not stickying this until I get some positive responses. :P

Oh Lord, I guess............
I need SOMEthing to get my :butt: in gear.....
I'm in, I'll start tomorrow am and post what I do...
hope4today - July 18, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
I might be in. Give me a couple of days to think about it and get into gear. I would have to start slow and easy.
I am about to start walking with a friend and I want to add 20 mins a day on the cross trainer.
I'll let you know if I decide to commit.
OH what the heck.......I'm in, but I might need a couple of days to get organised here. Have to do some repairs on the cross trainer.
OH dear I feel like running already
:swoosh:
andiesmama - July 18, 2007 05:39 PM (GMT)
Hopester, I'm starting slow & easy, too......
I've got Leslie Sansone walking DVDs, that's how I plan on getting back into it.....
Stringaling - July 18, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
I just can't get the motivation..... :(

| I just can't get the motivation..... :( |
I can't either.......but I'm thinking that if I have to be accountable I'll be more likely to do it.
I do know that once I get started and back into the habit, it'll come easier.
Stringaling - July 18, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
You also have only one child that wil leave for a good portion of the day when school starts...I got three in between my toes at all times! Man, if I could just have some time to myself on a regular basis..
As for having the energy to do it..how do you ladies get it? I have to get up at 4 AM and Ther is just no energy at all it seems...I'm tired..
Honey - July 18, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
String, you can't push an already tired body. All you'll do is drain yourself down even more. As I told Hope, you can't always "push" yourself to do something your body doesn't want to do.
First thing would be is to ask yourself if you WANT to do it. If you WANT to do it, you CAN! Find an accountability partner or make up some sort of routine. Buy a dvd where they guide you (like I have). Check the dvd, how long is the running time? Watch the dvd a few times first before you try to do it. Make sure you know what you're doing and how to do it. You might have to learn as you go (as I did.) Twisting and straining yourself when you don't know what you're really doing is no fun. :P
After you've watched the dvd a few times and have a general idea what to do.....set that time aside for yourself only. Have the kids do something else. Call it their "free time". Preferrably without distraction...but since you have a 2 year old....good luck!
I need anywhere between 6 - 8 hours of sleep. Lately I've been getting up between 6 - 6:30. I've been going to bed around 11. I get groggy later in the day (like right now) so I should be going to bed earlier to make sure my body gets enough rest between workouts. I only workout 3X a week.
The other thing...while you're working out, FOCUS on your body and the workout. What's your body doing? Took me a while to learn this, but I can feel quite a few muscles when doing certain things. Muscle I never knew I had! :D I've also been using weights...that helps. B)
Anyways..........I'm just speaking from personal experience. Last summer I felt SO fat and crummy and I was VERY determined to change all that. I started late summer (Sept) and am still doing the same routine and feel SO much more energetic and HEALTHIER! I plan on buying another dvd to change things up. At gave this one a year and really, really enjoy it. Not to mention some shrinkage and muscle gain! :booyah:
Basically, do what you can, when you can. Good luck to all you ladies!!!
Now, where are those :chicken: guys?!?!
Keneke - July 18, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
I'm allowed 20 min/walking a day and have my various stretches. That's all I'm allowed to do for now. Had I been healthy an no back problems, I would have done a 1/2 marathon last wknd :( OH well...life goes on. 20 min day is what I'll do. I already did it today :P

That's about what I get, but I still feel so run down....Personally I think its because of the 4 AM crap. Let me wake at 6 or later or whatever and I do much better, force me up at 4 and down at 8 and I'm just not so well rested....
Is that odd or do you think its all in my mind??
andiesmama - July 19, 2007 11:05 AM (GMT)
No, it's not all in your mind.......some people, it doesn't matter HOW much sleep you get, waking up really REALLY early just doesn't fly.....
Part of it might be in your mind, tho.......the resentment you feel about having to wake up that early simply because your husband says you need to......
Stringaling - July 19, 2007 11:35 AM (GMT)
He just "need help in the mornings because I'm so exhausted" Big baby...
Stringaling - July 19, 2007 11:36 AM (GMT)
"If you ever let me get enough sleep I wouldn't be so tired and wouldn't need your help"
Yeah, whatever.. Spoiled brat would make me get up anyway...
Honey - July 19, 2007 12:03 PM (GMT)
No, it's not in your mind. :agree: with Deb. Would taking the kids out for a walk work for you?
Stringaling - July 19, 2007 12:14 PM (GMT)
Its possible sometimes.. But right now it is so HOT!!! We are all...well Elijah and I, are whiteys and any amount of heat or sun does us in... Being a boy he will stay out and play in the heat till he pukes, so I have to force him to come in can cool off. Anneliese and Isaac can handle the heat better than we can...
The whole family went for a walk yesterday to a park that is nearby, Kids played for a little while and we came back. We are making more of an effort to get the whole family out and moving more often...

Honey - July 20, 2007 11:05 AM (GMT)
But I'm too tiiiiired! :snooze: :P
Actually, I just had breakfast and am waiting for it to digest. I'm finding out the HARD way that exercising on an empty stomach for me is a huge no-no. Too low blood sugar. Feel faint. Not good.

clayman - July 21, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
I spent an hour mowing the lawn in 85+F (25+C) and 150% humidity.
Honey - July 26, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
UGH! I need some butt kicking here! :bored:
I haven't exercised one day YET this week.......I blame hubby. He distracts me and it's so easy to just sit and chat and drink coffee and snack all day..........GRRR.
Jesslovespugsy - July 26, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
you know.... you could chat while working out ...tons of people do it.!! I just got back tonight did 30 mins on tread mill then went into the circuit room!
Honey - July 26, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
Chatting while working out? Nah...not me. I'd rather save my breath for later :P I'll get something in yet.....today, I hope....

Honey - July 28, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)

Jesslovespugsy - July 28, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
I worked out at the Y last night but only could do a half hour cuz i worked just short of 9 hours before I went and hadnt eaten in 6hrs cuz dinner wasnt ready so I didnt have much strength to do much. but every lil bit counts right?
Honey - July 30, 2007 03:12 PM (GMT)
Got my :belly: workout in! Best sweat I've worked up for a while! Well, besides sex.....:eyebrows:
I only used 3 lbs weights for today. Bumping it up to 5 on Wed.
Keneke - August 1, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Ok. Physical therapist is allowing me to do more. So I went on a 35 minute walk with the kiddo's, did 2 sets of 15 semi crunches and 2 sets of twisty crunches that focus on the obliques. That plus a load of arm and leg exercises to strengthen my core. :thanks:
Keneke - August 3, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
I did 2 sets of crunches today and 2 sets of twisted crunches. I did some weight lifting and stretching. :dunno:
andiesmama - August 4, 2007 01:14 AM (GMT)
My in-laws are giving us a treadmill. Ty thinks I won't use it, so that right there is enough to make me do it just to prove him wrong!!
andiesmama - August 7, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
Started it today......30 minutes this morning, figure I'll up it 5 minutes each day, so by the end of the week I'll be doing 45. :thanks:
Got it outside, under the ceiling fan, in front of the tv. Not too bad.....
andiesmama - August 7, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
