My frickin 5 year old know what sex is!!!
:wine: but wit a few whiskey shots instead :) Week er so ago, we put Kat to bed, an a hour an half later, Sarah an I are tryin to git busy in bed. Jes bout time we're busy, an I'm really tryin to keep from TMI here, but suffice it to say she was on top an leave it at that. Kat comes into our room an jes blasts out (I never even knew she'd come in lol)
"Why are you havin sex in the MIDDLE of the night!!!"
Well that jes bout killed everthin right then an there, I tried the whole, I'm helpin mamas back out, that didn't work, so I went on to "well we were jes wresttlin" That seemed to pease er for the night, but JR was a lil shy after that, I mean my FIVE year old daughter come in there an in a very disapprovin tone stated why on earth are we havin sex in the middle of the night?!?!?
The next mornin I tried to exaplin to a 5 year old that sex was ok but ONLY between a mamma an a daddy.... I'm really rather concerend bout er actually, I wouldn't have thouht she'd know what to call it at 5!! So.. any other words of wisdom for this one?

Really? I don't actually member that off hand. I do know this is the first time she's fired off at us wit the whole yellin "why in the middle of the night etc etc " as if we had jes got caught by our parents. I know a couple days after that I was chasin er mamma round the kitchen an witout missin a beat Kat says sumthin like "No! You cain't have sex in the ketchen! Go to YOUR room!"

Our kids all think kissing is GROSS! Never mind about trying to find out what sex is! Although I think Luke might know a little bit. Not the details....stupid punks at public school. No innocence there, I tell ya!
What's scary is little Kat is HOMEschooled!! :faint:

I KNOW!!! That's what's kinda got me concerned a bit. We never have had this whole, slot A shaft B discussion type thin, I really don't know why she would think that such an such acts are er would be sexual in natrue. We do NOT do anythin in front of the kids at all. Oh a lil kissin grabbin that sorta thin, but everthin else is private, I do not understand where she got the idea... an what's more horrifyin to me is, I wonder how long she'd been standin there! I Normally can hear the door open but I don't member hearin it an I don't know how long she was there. Innocenece is one of those thins, I wish you could grow it in a jar er sumthin an give it away, cause once it's gone it's all gone :(

Where's Sarah? What does she have to say about the girl's biological knowledge?
Course, it seems like it may head off some discomfort later in discussing the topic...
Stringaling - July 18, 2007 04:25 PM (GMT)
don't you guys have like cows or horses or something? Or live next to them? Surely she's seen stuff with the animals about...That would make it easier to explain too...
Sarah - July 18, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
Kat knows quite a lot. Having Liam last year and her going to the appointments and learning about the making of babies she learned quite a bit. I don't think she has an unhealthy knowledge or anything.

Wow..Wish I had an easy way to educate my kids about that...With the baby that is really neat how you were able to use that as a teaching tool..

we haven't really told them anything, but seeing as we have no door on our bedroom, I don't know what they may have seen..
We have curtain hung, but that's about as useless as one square of toilet paper...

I actually don't think it's a big deal for kids to know about sex. It's what they know about sex that may be a problem.
Honey - July 19, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
So....how can they "know" but "not know"?
I don't follow....:dunno:
I'd have a big problem if my young child came and told me (or worse, someone ELSE) that mommy and daddy were having SEX in bed last night. A child shouldn't have to know that. Not until at least the double digits. Know what I mean? Who knows...maybe I AM a prude! :yikes:

:agree:
Sarah - July 19, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
What I meant was that to me there's a difference between my child knowing that sex was something that a husband and wife did to show love to each other and my child thinking that sex should be something she should be trying to do because she heard from her friend that it's cool and feels really good.
