Anyone tired this 10-40 day fast/diet?

http://therawfoodsite.com/mastercleanse.htm

I'm reading the book now (cheaper at Amazon); looks interesting and will probably try it...

I highly recommend this to Honey since she's so full of crap.

I HAD to laugh at that! I just got done eating 2 huge servings of beans and white rice! :fart: :haha:

Lemonade is good, too.

We have the book here. Mrs. Redguard has attempted to do it a few times, but never with much success.

It's really quite gross.

Ah, but sometimes "gross" is "good"! I seriously think I should put Isaiah on it.

Hey Squat!! Tell us when you experience this symptom so we can laugh!

Hot bowel movements — Your body wastes are acidic and when you eliminate the most toxic ones, they actually feel anywhere from warm to burning. This experience is very infrequent, but worth mentioning because hot bowel movements after a day of heavy detox symptoms will confirm that you just eliminated significant toxins.

My wife and I have done occasional juice-only diets. Her favorite is Apple-Beet-Carrot juice with a sprig of parsley. It's actually quite good. I like it with a couple serranos juiced into it. Gotta have that kick!

But the science behind the detox theory is deeply flawed, says Peter Pressman, MD, an internal medicine specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The body already has multiple systems in place -- including the liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract -- that do a perfectly good job of eliminating toxins from the body within hours of consumption.

I sure wouldn't mind findin sumthin to clean out my body, but I don't know if it's jes that easy ya know. I mean apples an fiber etc will of course run through your body rather fast but I donno if it takes anythin along wit it ya know.

clayman - August 12, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
It takes plenty. If you juice at the same time, it'll clean your liver and blood as well. I was peein' brown for a few days after a three-day juice only fast. Felt a lot better afterward.

Only thing is - don't eat a big meal right afterward. The morning my fast ended, I got up early fried up three eggs, sausage and potatoes. Then I sat down to breakfast (break fast). About an hour later I puked it all up - at church. Man you gotta come off a fast slowly!

andiesmama - August 12, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
When you say "juice", what kind?

Make your own? Buy organic? :dunno:

clayman - August 12, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
We made our own "ABC" (Apple, Beet, Carrot) juice with a bit of parsley for flavor. I added a habanero for spice. Typically that's what we make. Sometimes, though, we'll juice other fruits and veggies. My wife makes lotsa smoothies with the juicer.

Today I juiced for lunch and am juicing for dinner. Doing a 3day juice fast...

Lunch was Pear, Green apple, one orange and one lemon

Dinner will be spinach, cucumber, ginger and carrot I believe

 You go, girl! Me, I'm gonna eat fish sticks on my salad. Mamaw's here so she put bacon in the beans. Gonna be too salty to eat again. :P

Sarah - August 14, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
But you gotta put bacon in the beans! If you keep this up Clay, Louis is going to revoke your Texan card :nono:
