What's good and what isn't? We currently have a Koss and it's lasted 3 years. Hubby wants to get a Panasonic because it matches the TV. But does it really matter if it's not the same brand?
C'mon guys...fill me in here. What to get and what not to get?

Hubby swears by RCA and I guess he's right cos everything we've ever gotten that was RCA has always lasted a long time.

I always use Consumer Reports Guides for purchases like this. For instance with TVs. Certain size and style TVs are better in certain brands than others. I think when we bought our living room TV (27") that Magnavox was the best.
Unfortunately, I don't have a subscription to Consumer Reports to help you with this! Can you check it out at your local library?

Oh, also websites like amazon.com let people write reviews on different products which can be really helpful.

That's a good idea too.

We bought a cheapo at Walmart for $35. It plays all the DVDs the other machine wouldn't! Just plain and simple and does the job! Love it.
Let's just see how long it'll last....
