Title: Another milestone reached!

andiesmama - April 23, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
Well, actually two...

The first one you GUYS will be proud of: Andie and Ty were out in the middle of nowhere fishing on Saturday. According to the story I got, she started doing the "pee pee dance", and Ty informed her that there was nowhere to go potty, she'd have to go in the bushes. So she did!! :D And when I asked her what she used to wipe, she proudly informed me that her daddy told her to "shake her booty" to shake off the pee-pees.  I am proud of my husband for handling that situation so well.....and I think he was pretty proud of himself, too!

Second one was this morning.....went and got my BABY registered for kindergarden!! Orientation is in May, then they've got an open house right before school starts in the fall..... :bored: :string: :faint:

What age does kindergarten start at in Florida? Do you guys do 1 year of kindergarten, or two?

Well, they do Pre-K at age four, and kindergarten at 5. It's just one year, then start at grade 1 when they're 6.....

Cool!

We have Junior Kindergarten (4 yr olds) and Senior Kindergarten (5 yr olds).

We're registering Rachel for JK right now. Now we have to make up our minds to the school we're sending her to. :(

Not fun.

Luckily, the elementary school in our district is rated A+....even her pre-k teachers said it was a great school, so we're thankful we didn't have to search around for a different one.....

Yay!
DS is signed up for kindergarten also. I have an 'orientation' this week. My baby
And peeing by herself in a bush. Good for her. It's so much easier for a guy. Both kiddo's learned how to from grandpa

Maddy registers tonight. Already got the shots - that wasn't fun - but she did good.

Speaking of milestones - Maddy finally learned how to TURN on her bike without training wheels. She's been riding without training wheels for a week or two - but was afraid to turn & would always fall down. Yesterday we were doing some ridin' &....she did it! She turned!! Good stuff!!

Young punks. :P

I THINK Andie's done with her shots......unless they do a Chicken Pox booster this year, I'm not sure.

She doesn't like 'em, but with the promise of ice cream afterwards, she takes it like a champ!!

Anyhow, after this she's done until like grade 7 I think.........

Vax are coming up in May for both kiddo's. I think (like Andie) DS is done for a while.

This might be a little off topic but anyone consider not vaccinating their kiddos?

We don't vax. Well, we're delaying, at least for now.

On the topic of milestones, Phillip is having a fabulous day. Earlier today, he held a 4 point stance (hands and feet) for over 30 seconds and then at lunch, I was trying to get him to do the sign for "all done" and started saying "duh, duh". So I looked at him and said "All done" and he said "ahduh" and then smiled super big, all pleased with himself.

I cain't have folks round me who cain't pee er crap outside... jes not in my nature lol

I take my hat off to Ty, the boy handled that very well, shake, that'll take care of it! Sarah's always worried bout this er that... wash hands etc etc etc. Ok sure, but c'mon! What's more important? peein er tryin to fix stuff afterwards?? Ya gotta go, well then you gotta go. Sarah carries a one gallon ice cream bucket round wit er in the truck when she's been wit me, Kat hadn't quite figured that one out yet, so we drag er potty seat thingy round wit us.... which reminds me.. it's still in my truck, I gotta git that out today.

Wow, Andie is really ahead of the curve with the whole, peeing in the woods thing. Geez, I didn't start doing that till I started sneaking beers in the woods!

Sean is already registered for kindergarten. He doesn't get his vaccinations until his birthday in July. I was asking his pre-k teacher if she was sure he was ready (he just seems so immature to me!) and she said yes. That he behaves completely differently at school and that he's actually her most advanced student. Yipee! 'Course I knew that, he is my boy afterall! The immaturity - that comes from his dad, who at 38 still has to be reminded that he's not 18!

When we were kids, we'd always be outside playing....we learned on our own how to pee in the nearby field. Who's got time to go inside for just a little leak when you have the great outdoors with a big corn field? B) Indoors was for #2 business. Learning to pee outdoors came in handy later when we were slaving our butts off in the fields.
