When my wife and I were dating in college, we had disagreed on what to call the water that fell from the sky. I, being a weather fanatic, insisted that all water falling from the sky is called "rain." She believed that all forms of liquid precipitation had different names like, drizzle, mist, sprinkling, raining and downpour. We discussed this every time it rained.
I had a friend who was majoring in meteorology. He'd left Russia after the fall of communism, because he loved being a communist. But, he was afraid for his life, so he came here where he could believe what he wanted. His name was Rudy. Hey, I liked him, not his ideals. I'm about as capitalist as they come!
Well, we went and asked Rudy the question. He told me that actually she was right. In meteorology, they use the different names to describe liquid precipitation. She nudged me and said,
Are you ready for this?
Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!
:puke:
Momma, Was my daddy a polar bear?
Why yes. Why do you ask?
But I'm COLD!!!!
hahaha

Uh, yeah, you just reminded me of that! Where I grew up in London there was quite a large Jamaican population, and yeah, now I remember that that was a bad word
