Yeah, so I got up to my daughter's alarm at 11:45 last night to take her to the potty so she wouldn't wet herslef, only to find that she was already wet. Okay, so it happens, Then I talk to her a bit more and learn that she woke up, was too tired to get out o bed, and so she peed on herself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was quite angry, but didn't explode on her. I made her remake her own bed, and told her that for the next week, so that she will know what a pain it is to have to wash pee sheets all the time, she is washing her brother's wet sheets every day (I've tried pull ups but my kids just leak out of them and I have to wash sheets anyway...) I had already removed her wet sheets when I found this out, otherwise she would've been doing it herself. She got a good talkin to from me last night and then this morning her daddy had a word with her (she woke up to watch Mr. Rogers--which comes on at 5 AM?!?) Again this mornign she confirmed that she was totally awake when she peed in her bed.
What the heck is this, people???!?!?!?!?!!!!!! Have any of you ever had to deal with this kind of laziness???

Is making her clean her brother's wet mess for a week adequate punishment and lesson teaching??

What do I do about this???

every night my sleep is interrupted so that I can wake her and her brother up to minimize the chances of wet beds in the morning and this is what i am encountering.. Yeah,...I'm pissed!!!!! Okay..laugh at the pun..

If she's old enough to realize she's deliberately peeing in her bed, then she's old enough to take full responsibility for it. I agree with making her do it herself. I'd also add a little :whip: for added reminder. ;)

I agree. Unfortunately the optimal time for the :whip: would've been at 11:45 last night when I found out about it. Everyone was sleeping and I was half awake myslef, so I missed my chance. If it ever happens again I am so angry about it this time, that I'll do it anyway. Pissy sheets for a week will hopefully put an end to it..

My OD got in trouble today while we were out in town. She was told at that time that she would get a spanking when she got home. The anticipation of the spanking was much worse than the spanking itself.

If she was mine, I'd let it go the first time with just making her own bed in the middle of the night. Then, the second time, I'd resort to something a bit firmer - like a spanking - but don't let her know ahead of time. If you don't want to wake everyone in the house, let her know at 11:45 that you're going to spank her in the morning, then let her sleep on it.

Oh - and you gotta follow through in the morning...

Yeah.. I agree. This time she is stuck changing her brother's wet bed so she'll get and idea of what I have to deal with when she does wet the bed...Maybe with more intimate experience with the cleanup she'll be discouraged from being lazy like that again.. If it does happen again....definately :whip:

I don't know what I think about this.

If she were truly a bedwetter, she would sleep right through it. (speaking from my own experience as a kid). It seems like she's acting out. Maybe as a form of control?

She has been wetting the bed and sleeping through it for ever. I think that now that she is growing out of it, she woke up needing to go but was too tired and lazy to get out of bed to do it. She's slept in it before and it never bothered her so maybe she figured it would be okay... Perhaps it has become a habit that is acceptable in her mind since she's never known anything other than wetting at night......???
