Title: homeschooling question

Out of curiousity...
For those who homeschool, how do you pick out your curriculum? Do you attend the local homeschooling 'trade show' or just go with what you find online?
Thanks,

I only did it for one year. But I chose Sonlight because it wasn't just Christian curriculum. It's very heavy in world literature, which I really loved. It was easy to buy, easy to use, and we still read all of the literature included.

We analyze very closely. We go to the shows, hit the Homeschool Book Store and spend literally hours poring over the material. Then, we choose and come home and start - only to find that it's not fazing the girls at all...

Just read a lot of reviews...talked to people who used the curriculum....looked at samples....and then just took the plunge. It can be hit and miss but the good thing is is that you're not stuck with it for 12 years - you can always change :)

Ok.
Just wanted to know how necessary or popular the trade shows were/are...
BTW, I'm not homeschooling just doing some research :D :D

I'll be going to Scholar's Choice to do my shopping.
