Title: "Weaker Vessel"
Honey - February 3, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Ok, I found the verse I think Squat likes to refer to when he says women are the "weaker vessel".
1Peter 3:7
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
NKJV.
That the one, Squat?

Just to play the devil's advocate here:
| QUOTE |
| giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel |
so Honor yourwife as you should honor the weaker vessel
Kind of like:
"Love your neighbor as youreslf"
"Love your wife as Christ loved the Church."
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"\
YOu see..These other verses do not say that your neighbor is yourself, or thet the wife is the Church, or that others are you, they just demonstrate that we are to treat others as we would treat ouselves, and therefore I say that I Peter 3:7 clearly states that the man doing the honoring is to honor the wife as if he were honoring the weaker vessel, or in other words, himself.
Men are the "weaker vessels". Says so in the Scriptures..

pshaw...right.
Tell that to the billions of jews, past and present.
All those "weaker vessels" wouldn't even let chicks in church for eons. I'm sure he was calling himself a weaker vessel....bwahahaha.

OK - Jews listened to Peter?
And, it was stupid human's taking scripture out of context that led to women not allowed in church.
:rolf:
I remember Hannah praying in the temple (1 Samuel 1). The priest thought she was drunk. Had it been a guy, he wouldn't have given it a second thought!
