One little girl's behavior caused her entire family to get kicked off a plane at the gate.

The Kulesza family of Worcester, Massachusetts was returning from a Florida vacation on January 14th when the incident occurred.

Parents Gerald, Julie, and their toddler Elly had boarded an AirTran Airways flight from Fort Myers to Boston when the little girl refused to take her seat before takeoff.

The kulesza family boarded an Airtran flight last week when their 3-year old daughter, Elly, refused to take her seat before takeoff. FAA rules state that children age two and older must have their own seat and be wearing a seatbelt during takeoff.

Sitting next to the crying baby on the airplane is every traveler's nightmare. Though, many would say an unruly child is no reason to throw someone off a plane. But that is exactly what happened to a family at Southwest Florida International Airport.

Ugh! I HATE sitting next to screaming kids. Both my kids got used to traveling early on and do GREAT on airplanes. We usually hear the "oh you sat behind me? You were do good - I didn't hear anything" when we land. :thanks:
If I knew my child is high strung or not a good airplane traveler - I would have given him/her Benadryl to get them sleepy enough...
Just me though...

I agree. The thing is, she is THREE!!!! :wall: Old enough to not throw tantrums. Period. Babies screaming, I understand.....not three-year-olds.

BTW, I'm all for drugging kids up on a long flight.....

I watched an interview w/ her and the parents. Her parents made a comment like "shes a normal 3 year old and is well behaved" and right at that time she became "jellyfish" and started to throw a tantrum  PERFECT TIMING.
As a local traffic reporter said after hearing this story "I'm sure glad my parents had control over us while we grew up"

Supernanny (I LOOOOVE her) had a little blog on it and she suggested that they try DRIVING in a car with the little monster next time.....that'll put a stop to the tantrums.....maybe.....

I think this says it all. Parent today are too permissive and afraid to be firm with their children and so they end up with terrors such as this....

I AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU! How's that Andiesmama?
It's true. Kids these days have more control than parents. :boo:
