Assemblywoman Sally Lieber, D-Mountain View, wants to outlaw spanking children up to 3 years old. If she succeeds, California would become the first state in the nation to explicitly ban parents from smacking their kids.

That's just stooooopid.

What are they gonna do? Install satellite cameras in everyone's home and crack down everytime a child gets a smack on the rear?

Well, yeah.....and how do you define "spanking"? Naked hiney? Clothed? Is one swat okay?

Yet another example of too much government in our lives. Who's to say the government can tell me what kind of discipline is best for my child?

Who knows? Crazy. Government sucks!

From what I've read/heard...someone would have to report you. If someone walks by your home and hears you spanking and the kids screaming - they can call and report you. I'm in BIG trouble!

I wish some of these REPS would do something useful like look that the crime rate in Oakland or Richmond or parts of San Francisco - areas in Los Angeles, Sacramento etc and work on that...or on the homeless problem...or on the ILLEGAL problem... :bored:
