Wifey says in her Bradley Class that ultrasounds transmit less radiation than the doptones (sp?)....

Good thing.

During the first use of ultrasounds, there was so much radiation pushed through the body that it was killing the finite eggs in female babies....(String, there is something to google as I've not really researched it, just believed my wife who read it somewhere....but my wife's old Dr. agreed and told us that current ultrasounds use less than the doptones (sp?).)

Anyway, just one instance of "current" medical practices being harmful; the general public become "guinea pigs".

roo....ask your Dr. about this next time.

amyroo - January 18, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
I know all about the research on ultrasounds. We only do them when there is a medical indication for one. (Except for this one, 'cause I wanted to find out what the sex was and bullied my husband into it.) Remember, Squat, my hubby is even further into the holistic stuff than your wifey is.

The ultrasound they use to look at the baby for pictures is intermitant, while the doppler that they use to check heart tones is constant. That's the difference.

so are you shooting for a VBAC this time or is that too dangerous?

One of my best friends has 11 kids...yes eleven. His wife can't even get pregnant anymore w/o a high risk of death, let alone give birth.

They're both still capable though.

amyroo - January 19, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
VBAC is too risky for us after 2 c-sections. My OB wouldn't even consider it.

:box: You got me! I thought I was coming back to find news.....

Glad everything looked good on the ultrasound, tho!!

I like surprises! I think it spoils the excitement knowing ahead of time. I did that with my second. I KNEW it was gonna be a boy, the ultrasound just confirmed it. Ach well...Glad it's all looking good! :)

I don't remember where I heard, but I just loved it and I've been waiting forever to be able to use it.

Sarah - January 20, 2007 03:30 PM (GMT)
What have you picked out for the middle name?

amyroo - January 20, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
Yes, her middle name is Angenette (pronounced like Ann Jeanette). That's Matt's grandma's name.
