Well, normally it just means presents for my little bitty valentines. But this past year, DH and I have been struggling a lot. So I think it would be a great day to celebrate how awesome I am to have as a wife!
hee hee hee

Pithy poems
Careful cakes
A reminder that her birthday was less than a week before
Red roses
Chilled champagne
And a time to celebrate - your relationship's not a bore!
Hey - it's the best I could do on short notice! :bravo:

When I was selecting which Midol to buy, in the same aisle I saw this:

I thought to myself....hmmm, that might make an interesting Valentine surprise! Along with a hot bath, some body warming oil, candle light, wine....
There's a bunch of stuff on www.keepcondoms.com, too. :eyebrows:
Golfingmom - February 8, 2007 06:14 AM (GMT)
Ok...Vday is one week away.
My DH realized this yesterday and said "Ah! Valentines Day is next week. I better go around the neighborhood and pick some roses for you" :naughty:
Ok... I did crack up! It was hilarious for me. We have no money to celebrate so I think the most excitement we'll have is melting chocolate and having fondue for dessert...Kids will have fun...
Stringaling - February 8, 2007 12:47 PM (GMT)
We're gonna make a cake and make valentines for everyone and their cat....(dogs don't deserve them :P) Kids are looking forward to starting the crafting today...
GutterRat - February 8, 2007 02:06 PM (GMT)
Ugh - yet another Hallmark holiday.
We are doing VERY LITTLE - if anything. Cards & chocolate - about it.
We have a big year coming up so we are saving every penny possible.
LynnMcG - February 8, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
I bought the kids' cards yesterday...DH interrupted my search by calling on my cell phone to remind me to get batteries. There I was, all in the moment, reading mushy cards...
Sarah's birthday is the day after, so it's a pain to have to do stuff for Valentine's Day when we're more interested in celebrating the kid who made us parents! I'll make something good for dinner, then we'll have something chocolate for dessert. I got Sean a Spongebob alarm clock...not sure what Tommy will get Sarah. And I'm sure I won't get a thing. But that's ok.
Honey - February 8, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
I think we'll just go to bed early. Yippee.
Stringaling - February 8, 2007 08:25 PM (GMT)
wow. Honey used the word bed and didn't use the eyebrows...

funny (or sad) how VDAY has become more the kiddo's than for us. They mailed out cards to church kids and my oldest will be handing out some candy in Sunday School.
I guess since I don't expect anything I'll have fun watching them have fun :dunno:

Sorry, String!
Like GR said...."another HALLMARK holiday"...oh yippee! We can have Valentine's day or night any freakin' time of the year. I don't understand all the excitement around ONE day of the year to get all romantic and sexy and stuff yourself full of unnecessary calories with chocolate and other crap....yanno?
That's what BIRTHDAYS are for!! Eh? Get it? *nudge, nudge* :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :booyah: :shakeit:

I don't know. I think it's more sad that so many people rely on a single day out of the year to tell their mates how much they mean to them. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love that it's a great excuse to get a date out of my husband, but I don't need February 14 to tell him how much I love him.

Bag Balm works!
I've seen how my hubby shaves his face...no WAY would I allow him down there with a sharp object!
How about waxing instead? :eyebrows:

I had to do that once to cure a serious case of jock itch.
Maybe I got ingrown hairs or something, but it wasn't pleasant having it grow back in.
